Don't think my earlier thread went through.
I said after Gillingham that I just want to shake Oberton until it sinks in that he can play football.
Looks as the he's starting to believe and long may it continue. Admittedly it was offside but could you imagine him a year ago smashing it in like he did last night?

He seems to have found a better work ethic too.

Suggest you don't put this name on the back of your shirt mind.

My pessimistic side is saying it won't last... because he's with us and we have the curse of Davy Jones' locker.

But realistically I think he's just finally developing into something worth having in the side, I still think he needs to start passing when he can and not just running aimlessly with the ball. But he is far far better than before.

I was just thinking that after their recent performances it would be hard to drop any of Ameobi, Aarons or Obertan, but the only way to fit all three in would be to drop Perez, which would also be harsh.

I think Obertan has stepped up big time. I'll eat some of this hhumble pie because I said he'd never be any use, same goes for Cisse. I thought he was broke for good. To be fair both have really stepped up and played a big part in turning around our form. Obertan's pace when it is coupled with a of ability is very very useful.

Ameobi for me is more of an option from the bench. I'd start with Aarons, Obertan and Perez. Ameobi to continue in the impact role. The extra pace is really helping out with these lads. Any news on Cisse or Tiote?

Cisse touch and go, tiote is defiantly out. I said after pre-season I thought Obertan had turned a corner (being keen I had watched all our pre season matches) and I'm glad he's proved me right he's put in all the work to turn his nufc career around. Makes you think maybe HBA should have taken note... but anyway for sat I really want Aarons to start but I doubt it will happen I fear he's now 5th in pecking order behind gouff (who will never be dropped), ober, Sammy and cabella

We'll have to wait and see but I think Aarons will be starting a week from Saturday and steadily from then on. Don't think he will start on Saturday but only because he isn't fit for 90 minutes - - he was substituted at half time on Wednesday because he had run out of puff. I don't expect we'll see a lot more of Gouff unless he has a big game on Saturday
