Why would Spurs or Liverpool offer Rodriguez that much money?

Because football has gone mad. Why would any team offer Luke Shaw £150k a week for 1 assist and no goals? Why would QPR offer Samba £100k a week? Why would Man U offer Rooney £300k a week?

Soldado is circa £100k a week!!!!
Sturridge is circa £80k a week!!!
    Giroud is £100k a week.

Could also add Andy Carroll for £80k :)

Every year it goes up. Will we offer anything near that? Say £80k a week

And there, in a nutshell, is the Premier League. It's utterly jiggered, the game has completely sold it's soul to Sky.

If it weren't for Saints playing in it, I'd have nothing to do with the Premier League.

SKY didn't say " pay your players a **** load of money" the clubs choose to do so. If anything the bosman rule started it off.

Umm....Sturridge is quite good, as evidenced by how much Liverpool miss him. I'll wager that Balotelli is on more than him.

Of course they did... Any proof? I am not saying Sky didn't pay a part in it. As they give the clubs crazy money to give them the means to be able to do it. But I see no where they say "give your players **** loads of money" .

What we should remember is that footballers pay tax at the highest level, so basically the Exchequer (i.e. us) get a big chunk of money from the football clubs.

I read somewhere that Glen Johnson is on £110,000 a week.....now the premier league is barking mad.

Yes, I've never been convinced by the exchequer/us argument. I don't feel a penny better off. It's the same with all those palaces I own that the Queen gets to live in. Doesn't stop me going to the wall one iota. And I don't to see all those lovely works of art either. ;)

What, you've never come to London and visited the National Gallery or the Tate? They're free you know.

I was being flippant. The problems with the PL aren't all down to Sky, they've probably got more to do with universal human flaws like greed. That and a total lack of backbone from Sport's governing bodies.

Still would rather not give the skin off of one of my farts to any business owned by the Murdoch's though.

Exactly. Jay is quite good. Are we going to pay him as much as Sturridge. I don't really think Liverpool are missing Sturridge that much. I think its more a case of the rest of their team and management being crap. And yes Balotelli is probs being paid more.

My 'source' ;) says £90k a week but only got 1 year left on his contract.

(source is in speech marks because its a very weak source:) )

Lots of interesting talk regarding JRod and Morgan!! With Real Madrid ready to offload Khedira, Morgan would be a perfect shoe-in for them. He would be wasting his talent going off to Spurs or Liverpool. Listen to me Morgan!!! If you do decide to leave us then go to another world-class club ie Real, or Barca to replace the aging Mascherano but only after we have won the Premiership!!!!!!

I've lost all fear of a player leaving.

After the summer I've learnt 2 things 1. If rumours gain enough momentum about a player leaving its quite possibly true. 2. Our club will simply replace said player with someone better.

    Relaxed.

Jay isn't as good as Sturridge (IMHO).
