Chuffed for him, must be the most satisfying thing to come out and give a performance like that after 2 years out. anyone else starting to get a horn for obertan these days?
Yes and yes Quite honestly, I was expecting Ryan to return as a shell of a man. I mean, he was an adequate rotation/back-up player when he got injured, so I mentally prepared myself for sympathy flushes at him, similar to those you give severely disabled people who want to fly to Switzerland, as he crawled around the pitch drooling from every orifice. Honestly, assisted suicide ran through my head. But clearly the "injury" was just a mask for top secret experiments and training, as they fused his external flesh with a super-compound, known only as Ryantaylorium, for what has been returned to us merely resembles Ryan Taylor in shape and entity, but what throbs underneath is the power and heart of a demi-god.
Should have won MOTM yesterday. To come back after two years, play his arse off like that and against City - he deserves serious props for it. Kudos to him.
So pleased for the guy. He was outstanding last night. To play like that against Man City after so long out shows immense mental strength. He really got stuck in, and it was him dispossessing Fernandinho to set up he first goal set the mood for the whole game. He was inspirational. As for MOTM, I wouldn't have begrudged a single one of our players the award if they had been picked - and I can't remember the last time I would have thought that.
Truly inspirational. The huddle at the end showed despite the troubles, team spirit very much intact.
Are you suggesting a "Captain America" or "Winter Soldier" type experiment? Perhaps Ryan Taylor was the prototype, Cisse was the next step....all of our long term injuries are returning better......Santon should be amazing if this is true. We've been perfecting it for seasons, hence why we keep loaning in "broken" players, like Nacho and Ireland....the early stage experimentation. It's part of Big Mike's master plan, buy them broke sell them fixed - net result is profit. He's now moved it onto the next stage, he's using it on a full team - hence Rangers. Prof. Derek Llambias will oversee the experiment, no one will notice if it works or not as they expected to defeat everyone anyway. It all makes sense now.
Ryan Taylor: Newcastle United return 'a dream come true' Ryan Taylor says "there are no words" to describe Newcastle United beating Manchester City 2-0 in the League Cup - his first game for 26 months. The defender, 30, injured his knee in August 2012, before suffering a setback seven months into his rehabilitation. He played 90 minutes of Wednesday's fourth-round win at Etihad Stadium. Play media Taylor 'cannot thank fans enough' "To put those boots and that shirt back on against the champions and for us to give a performance like that is a dream come true," he told BBC Newcastle. The season before his injury nightmare began in a Europa League tie against Atromitos, Taylor played 31 Premier League games as the Magpies finished in fifth position. In total, he has scored 10 goals in 95 appearances since arriving as part of the deal that took Charles N'Zogbia to Wigan in 2007. As part of his rehab, the right-sided player has been used in a variety of roles by Newcastle manager Alan Pardew. "Like a new signing" Of the squad named for their League Cup game with Manchester City, there were 12 who had never played for Newcastle the last time Ryan Taylor did. "Lots of people have played a part and the people who stood by me deserve more credit than I do," explained Taylor. "The manager's had me scouting, watching training, learning new things about the game. "There are no words I can think of, from the medical team to the fans, I can't thank the football club enough."
Said on sky before all the newcastle players gave him a standing ovation in the dressing room after he'd finished his post match interview Must be well thought of
