He should pay the price for any offence but I can't see what is good about this for QPR. Paying an experienced player to sit on his hands, especially when we have limited cover in his position at this time. Players should think about the wider implications of their actions. It's not amusing on any level. Why look to increase a ban. I know some are just having a joke but why is our club once again in the mud.
What with this, the book promotion, the uninspiring performances and the rumours of him jumping ship in January, I don't think his absence does significantly more damage than his presence. If we want the defensive cover, I'd prefer Donaldson got the nod - at least he'll get some valuable experience even if he makes mistakes. With Rio, I just don't see our return.
What annoys me with Rio is we could have gone out and got a younger player who could have taken his squad place. Which would have help us a lot more in the future
If he was playing for a big club like Chelsea he could have called the guy to his face a black **** and he would have got off more lightly. The FA don't mind that While I don't like Rio as a player we should at least be given the option of playing him... john Terry could stop charlie from securing a certain winner by fouling him on Saturday and lose him for 1 game but Rio calls some nobody a sket and it wastes 3 weeks wages of Rangers money?!
Enough Twitter BS from him , Joey or any other player. We fans cannot care less of what big brains footballers have to say if not on the pitch. Tony please put a contractual ban Twitter ( and book writing). Who is going to read Rio's memories?
It is very clear RF priorities are himself , tv appearances , the book etc. It was as many mentioned a mistake big time bringing him to our club , again that was HR. Sorry but tbe clubs management have failed again here. A player at 36 years old whose other priorities and back based in London far outweigh any interest in doing well for QPR. If we have to pay him for these 3 games and it leaves us short of cover at CB its self inflicted. Should never have been allowed in the first place.
Hopefully his experience is helping the team on the training field. You only had to see him behind Harry in the dug out that he gives a ****. I not sure he has got it in him to play and compete at our level. He certainly has a lot to offer this club like i have already said maybe just not of the playing field itself
made the news here one of the drivers at work came into the office and said "your team are in the **** now one of your players has been banned" he didn't understand why I was rolling on the floor laughing and cheering play better without him kiwis eh
Good that they have come down hard on the super tweet but as to write him off as a player is very fickle I believe he will come back into the side and then will look easily our best defender I am sure he fully understands that his own game needs to adjust and his start far too casual but he is still a very good player who could be the difference if we continue to improve collectivity as a team I am hoping both him and AT will be become first choices He wants to go out on a high after a brilliant career so I am willing to bet he will massive for us
DT Footspa.......You have clearly not been to West Ham /Tottenham or Man Utd games this season. Good riddance, he won't play for us again and will retire (un)graciously at end of year (not season).
Correct I was not there but still think that we lacking a lot more than a poor Rio Ferdinand performance yet somehow the fickle have wormed out their latest target I still think he will come back very strong because he is a very good player. Pure class against Hull yet gets rubbished because he was blamed for Hull's goal. I agree he has been very poor to adapt to our poor side, work ethic etc but that doesn't make him a bad player … off the pitch well he is a total knob … about time IMO people looked at that. I remember the abuse and stick Zamora got on here … he wanted to give up football as it was just a job and now look at him … a hero
My main problem is the rumours (apparently in front of a full studio audience) that he wants out in January. That shows zero commitment and would severely limit any chance to prove himself. He gives off the impression of being like a small tornado - with an area of disarray wherever he goes. I don't try to single out players particularly (don't think I made too much about BZ because I could see that he offers a lot to the team although might have said a few words about him hating football). It's all usually borne out of frustration at underachieving (SWP was fantastic but has rarely come close in 3 years for us) or the individuals being objectionable in some way.
