As one of the responses points out, this was played on a Tuesday afternoon because of the three-day week. I couldn't go because I had to work!

The photo of the goal is particularly interesting to me because the Chelsea defender to the right of the picture is Gary Locke, who was a schoolmate of mine from Furness Road Junior and Willesden High.

It wasn't long after that that we thrashed them 3-0 at the Bridge, I remember the game well as it was delayed because one of the floodlight pylons had lights wobbling in the high winds and we were moved away from the area underneath them...

God that brings back some memories. I was in 2nd year at the Wren and school closed at 1:30 that day because they didn't was us all exiting school at the same time as the match was due to finish. So we all legged it and managed to squeeze in just before kick off, if I remember rightly the crowd was over 30000 that afternoon.

Wasn't the first game at stamford bridge the one that finished 3 all?

Also remember the one that Soops referred to when we beat them 3-0 at thir place, went with my parents and we sat in the back row of the top tier of that new stand they had just built and there was a gap behind the seats where you could look down to the ground behind the stand, a shear drop of several hundred feet. You needed a head for heights to be up there..... Anyway Phil Parkes played a blinder first half as they played down wind (gale) to keep it goalless at HT then we turned on the style 2nd half and blew them away, could easily been 5 or 6 by the end. Happy Days.

It was the following seaon 1974-75 that we beat them at the Bridge 3-0. 1973-74 we drew 3-3.
