Good Morning Everyone, Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water........ Redders is NOT ready to take the Elland Road hot seat without assurances set in stone, and good for him!!! The fact Redders is looking to corner Cellino partly puts doubt in my mind, why should we trust that slippery eel Celino? Redfearn has told Cellino that he wants his contract agreed, and his permanent appointment made before Saturdays game at Cardiff. Otherwise, who knows!!!! It has also come to light in the last 24 hours that Milanic was on £400,000 a season!!! I do not have a clue how much other Championship Managers are on, but it was believed that Hockaday was on £120,000 a season. Surely, 400k, is some serious money for a Manager from a Championship team? Just to make life a little bit more complecated with Cellino, Warnock has been speaking to the YEP, telling them how pleased everybody is with Redders appointment, and how all the players are behind him!!! It should be an interesting day!
Morning Elland, I just said on another thread for me Cellino is entering into an important phase, he still just about has my full support but failure to deliver on the purchase of Elland Road and get the next coach wrong and that could soon change
Morning ristac, Cellino has done a lot for Leeds Utd, and has ploughed millions in. But would you trust him with the deeds to your house
Morning Elland and all. 400k a year is buttons if you're only going to have the job for a month. 35k a month would be a far more accurate way of describing our coaches salary
Good morning Matt and co from a hazy Cote de Bardsey McDermott was on £850k a year so 400k seems like a resonable rate.It was much more than he was earning in Austria as he only had to pay out 300k to release him from his contract Redders who can blame the guy from wanting some secruity having known whats gone in the past few weeks but I still think he his green behind the ears so a reasonable salary should be based on results plus a big bonus if he gets promotion Lets face it there will be queueing down the road with applicants for the job whatever Giles says its such a pestigious oppointment
Morning troops. I'll believe the situation with regard to Redders, the 1st team coach, money etc hen it appears on the OS. Until then you can shove twa**er where the sun doesn't shine.
When Cellino came in I have no doubt he ploughed millions in, he saved us from going under, for that we owe him our support and he has mine. When he came in he did a lot of cost cutting measures, he shifted 90% of the expensive deadwood and we have 4 players less on our books now than we did the day he came in and those players we have are on affordable wages. I don't believe we are still a loss making machine. On player sales and purchases realistic figures are saying we are around £8 million in profit, Cellino twice promised to buy the ground back, first when he wanted to take over then again when he sold Ross and told us the money would be used to buy back ER in November. No I wouldn't trust him with my deeds but I wouldn't trust Bates either and as nobody seems to know who owns the ground at the moment and who we are paying rent to Yes of the calibre of Hockaday, no proven coach would touch us with a barge pole.
Lets see then Risrac if Redders declines, what comes out of the woodwork believe me you will be surprised with the number of applicants .Remeber whoever gets us promoted will be a Leeds Legend
Morning Mike, Milanic paid 300k to buy himself out of the contract, only for us to sack him after a month and a day. Giles should kep his mouth shut. It's Peter Lorimer's 71st Birthday today!!!
United’s home was sold to Manchester businessman Jacob Adler for a knockdown £8m price in November, 2004, as mounting debts threatened to drag the club under in its first year outside the Premier League. Ownership passed the following year to Teak Commercial Limited, a firm based in the British Virgin Islands. Included in the initial sale and leaseback deal with Adler - and something retained in the subsequent sale to Teak - was a buyback option that allows the club to purchase the stadium at a set price. That amount rises each October and today stands at £15m. Also subject to a raise of three per cent each October is the rent United pay to Teak, which this year will cost the club £1.4m. Since Elland Road was sold to Adler by the United board that was led by Gerald Krasner, United have paid around £11m in rent. That was a story from a year ago I believe, you only have to see the British Virgin Islands mentioned and you start to worry More recent: Leeds sold their stadium in 2004 for £8m during the club’s financial crisis and the Italian entrepreneur vowed in February, before his takeover had been confirmed, to buy it back immediately. The former Cagliari owner has not yet fulfilled that promise and has since claimed that he wants to secure a deal by November. The deeds to Elland Road are owned by Teak Commercial Limited, a firm based in the British Virgin Islands http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/aug/03/leeds-united-massimo-cellino-elland-road The by November part would tie in with the cost going up each October.
Morning all Despite all the money Cellino has put into the club I am now starting to go off him. We badly need stability and direction. Cellino thinks he run the club on his own but I disagree. I'm starting to wish Farnams mob had got in now cos I'm sure they would have put a proper management structure at the top and run the club in a better manner. Cellino may have got rid of the dead wood to save money but he has also decimated our coaching staff which was stupid. Even buying back the ground will not change my opinion of him now, his treatment/sackings of the coaches staff and even the CEO in such a short space of time are just ridiculous. Although he is a head case I still think decent coaches would come to us if the contract was right.
Adler = Teak Trading = Ken Bates. Bates and Adler have been in business together for around 20-years on and off. Bandits
in July, Cellino said the £10.75m fee raised from Ross McCormack’s sake to Fulham would give Leeds the equity they need to pay for the ground in full and in one hit. “If we have a mortgage, instead of paying £1.6m a year in rent we pay £600,000 on the mortgage,” Cellino told the YEP. “But there is no bank in Leeds that will give us a mortgage. What’s the risk? If we’re paying £1.6m in rent, how can we not afford £600,000 a year? “The money we have we might need to renovate the stadium, to make a new stand, to clean it up or do something else nice. But by November, we’ll buy the stadium. If we have to pay cash then we will. The money is there.”
