A sad story, sure some of you must know him?



A devoted Toon fan is fighting for life in hospital after falling in front of a train in London hours before Newcastle United’s match at Tottenham.

Friends say Darren White was dragged by a train after seemingly collapsing on the platform at Bexleyheath Station, on Sunday morning.

The 41-year-old from Peterlee, County Durham, suffered serious injuries and remains in a critical condition at King’s College Hospital.

Darren, a caretaker at East Durham College, usually travels to away games by coach with other local fans on a bus organised by Bobby Huntington.

But he is thought to have travelled to London on Friday to visit friends before the game.

Know him very well. Been going to the games with him for years, he never misses a game, home or away. I've just had a text from Bobby who's in the photo, he runs the bus. He's lost five toes, broken leg, shattered pelvis and his backs a mess. They had to cut the operation short because his breathing was bad. Still unconscious after the op.

Bloody shame, he's a good lad.
