Post a complimentary thread about how Pardew conducted himself after the match and how his tactics were good today.... When I listened more and heard him have another dig at the fans when he said that the 'Geordie Nation' said he wasn't up to the job... But that result meant that that box was now ticked...

No Alan. Great result today fella but you eill be judged after the 10 (Ten) games you requested.... And there is one game left.

A little humility would go a long way Mr Pardew, it's only one game out of so very many, when you have had little to crow about.
I cannot believe this muppet, simply doesn't know when to keep his gob shut.

His BBC interview was better, he said the fans where terrific and the usual ****.

I just don't watch the interviews unless I find the manager entertaining, Warnock, Mourinho, Wenger (only if Arsenal lost). Apart from that, they say the same thing everytime.

Well apparently for a Newcastle side we didn't carry enough of a "fret", Pard's didn't think we carried enough of a "fret" first half...

Is he talking guitar necks or about a sea mist?

Either way he changed things and we carried more "fret" to snatch a win, well done to the lads – it's been bloody overdue though hasn't it?

Personally still struggle to see what we're trying to achieve, still feels more to me like Spurs couldn't "break us down" rather than we did anything to win it? I mean we were reliant on that most rare of things - a performance from Sissoko. As tends to be the real signature of a Pardew victory, the individuals won the game. Spurs are sadly lacking up top (sound familiar) but were all about pretty patterns rather than a functional win. Even then, it's folly to overlook the fact we could/should have been 2 or 3 down by halftime. We still have no definition - it's heartening to see the players play for the manager, or so it seems, but in what formation? Yet again we end the game with two left backs on the field - another Pardew signature move. Maybe we read too much into it, the internet doesn't help particularly when Pards' is doing his level best to sound like a complete cnut. But we still just look like a team without direction, drifting towards the middle of the league rather than powering towards anything.

Still, best to be positive - great three points, can look up rather than down, Sissoko's learning how to be a CM which is great. Not sure what formation we're going to end up with, as we have four on the left wing to pick, not including left backs. Add to that the fact SDJ isn't ready and Perez should arguably be off Cisse, who knows. Pardew is right about one thing, though - we should be top 10, looking at the top 6 with ambition.

It's hard for me to keep defending him and saying it's the resources that's the problem, when he keeps running his mouth off <doh>

Still, let's not take the edge off a fine win. How often do we win in London?!

I think Pardew had an exceptional day today. People blame him for a lack of contingency, and our side getting worse after half-time, but he sprung a masterclass today, aided by Sissoko, who was quite exceptional. I hope he has the presence of mind to give the second-half lads a run-out next time, hopefully with a fit Tiote replacing Colback. Sammy is looking lean, strong and ready to step up, similar to Obertan. Credit must go to them, because it's clearly to not work and look like Taarabt when you're not getting games.

Must say, Cabella, for the first time, showed real quality. Bar one moment where he was in on goal and should have passed, he had good poise and great balance, seemingly bouncing off tackles.

Saylor, as well, for all the criticism, is proving he's better than Willo I think. Willo's been a great servant, but he's the one that must be upgraded.

Just really really chuffed overall! <cheers>

    P.s
Spurs fans leaving on 80 minutes should be embarrassed of themselves. Hate it when fans do that at 0-3, but at 1-2?

We just seem to buy whichever players our scouts say are decent and who become available at a price we like. There seems to be no holistic overview of needing a specific kind of player or position. If 4 decent CM's become available at a good price then that's what we buy even if we actually needed a CB, striker, etc.

As such our team regularly looks like a bunch of individuals rather than an actual team. It is all very good pointing at Pardew (and I don't wish to defend the smug twat) but I do think he has a job of just papering over the cracks year after year and some seasons he does a great job whilst others its horrific. I'm not sure there are better managers out there who would put up with working in the same conditions.

Can't put it down to individuals. A true team performance and more than anything some great changes and tactical switches by the manager. Credit where its due.

I do think Spurs lack any real cutting edge. It made our job a lot easier as you can just make them play in front of you.

We're still a poorish side and bottom half squad for me. He's still an average manager.

For the next game, it would be really good to see a front '6' of Tiote, Sissoko, Colback, Ameobi, Obertan and Cisse. Not only is that not too shabby for a mid-table side, but there would be actual, real-life options on the bench (Perez, Riviere, Cabella and maybe even Aarons).

I did look at Chelsea today, who I imagine won't be beaten this season, and think exactly this. They needed a player with real presence and strength, kinda like that bloke Matic. So they buy Matic. They need some striking cover for Costa, so rather than just rely on kids or random youngsters bring in Remy and Drogba. I mean, I do understand we're not in the same league, but you do have a point that it may be harder to create an identity when your owner's recruitment strategy is buy young players at a good price, regardless of position.

I'd have Gouff on for Obertan, and I'm developing an unnatural and unnecessary dislike of Colback, so I want Cabella to start.

I think people are harsh on the Gouff. He's not been getting in scoring positions, and he's been a bit more wasteful in possession so far this year, but there's a reason Pardew persists. Obertan doesn't track back with conviction like Gouff, nobody does, and that's central to Pardew's approach.

Overall, I think we can all agree we want to see Sissoko playing like that every game in CM. We're so weak and tepid in the middle without Tiote, and Sissoko carries the ball amazingly when he's on form.

No Gouff is a fairy. If you go near him he chucks himself on the floor. Its so pathetic that refs don't even consider free kicks. Gives the ball away constantly as a result. I think he should be put in stocks at the monument and used sanitary towels fired at his face by mechanical means.
