Interesting article on the Government Auctions website http://governmentauctionsuk.com/auc...era-loophole-exposed/1551?guide_type=motoring
i tried that years back but they just sent it back saying i hadn't signed it. the trouble with having the case heard in court is that your fine could then be a grand instead of £60.
The article isn't dated and the source isn't linked It's a load of cack, sorry The loophole was closed in 2004!!!
If you don't sign the form you will be prosecuted for not naming the driver. With motoring offences like these, you are denied the right to remain silent and failure to incriminate yourself (or another) is an offence in itself.
Given the choiice, simply opt to attend a speed awareness course. It will cost you £85 but you get no points on your icense.
Especially when you're in a familiar area and are focussed on your whereabouts and the sat nav, whilst also trying to spot a sign showing the speed limit on a particular road. Another one, as I've realised recently is when the speed limit is changed without warning on a stretch of road that you've driven for 35 years and you have to try and remember that it's been reduced by 20mph!
Not really, the problem is that hardly anyone drives normally, most drivers change character to a wannabe Louis Hamilton once behind a wheel, ride a bike for 7 days a week to see what I mean. And I don't expect the situation to alter any time soon no matter how many laws are brought in, drivers and mobile phones, need I say more?
