Martin Skrtel for me - I think he is incredibly overrated by our fans and sections of the media. Such a poor, clumsy defender who redeems himself with last ditch tackles and a few goals.

Wonder how we'll all feel about Gerrard when he's doing Hansen and Lawrenson's old job on the MOTD sofa??

I wasn't a big fan of Dossena but he has scored against Man Utd and Real Madrid. Something to put in his CV

Well Mccunty has declared that Real Madrid wasn't a real "Galacticos" side back then so apparently it doesn't count any more

I expect Man Utd also had no respectable players either

That is really not a fair comment. If the right opportunities (as far as he was concerned) were not there then he did the right thing. After all it's not as if all that experience is disappearing is it? In the future who knows what he will do.

But I can respect a man who thinks that he committed so much time and effort and recognises the cost of that to his family and decides that enough is enough!

For me it was El Hadji Diouf - ****e player and a despicable man. Absolute bellend of the highest order that spat at fans and players on a regular basis.

  8. Bit of a strange one this but I really disliked Carragher pre-Rafa when he was being played as a FB. The own goals against Man Utd didn't help either. Fortunately, Rafa moved him to CB and my opinion was very quickly changed #legend

Jimmy: this should tell you the local thing means little to me :)

Carra does the punditry stick and hasn't gone down any in my estimations. I like Carra just as much as I always did!

As a Chelsea fan definitely Winston Bogarde for me.
Made 9 appearances in 4 years.
Ranieiri tried to sell him but Colin Hutchison had agreed a ridiculous salary with the player upon signing him and so he wouldnt leave unless he got the same wages, so Ranieiri put him in the reserves then the youth team.
In an interview Bogarde said ""Why should I throw fifteen million Euro away when it is already mine? At the moment I signed it was in fact my money, my contract. This world is about money, so when you are offered those millions you take them. Few people will ever earn so many. I am one of the few fortunates who do. I may be one of the worst buys in the history of the Premiership but I don't care".

Its not so much wanting the cash, everyone can relate to that, its the complete lack of ambition as a player, that he didnt have the belief in himself that he was good enough to earn that wage and that he wouldnt get it elsewhere. Most players with an ounce of integrity or self respect would want to prove the manager wrong and prove they are worth that money, at Chelsea or elsewhere, but he just didnt give a flying ****.......totally pathetic sportsman.

I should add he was forced to retire at 33 because after his behaviour with us, no club would touch him with a barge pole, especially since he had played less than 10 games in 4 years, through choice.....and he was bitching that he couldnt reach an agreement with any clubs after Chelsea.....wtf did he expect? Who would sign a player with that sort of work ethic!?

We paid him 15m Euros over 4 years which is £11.8 million, divide that by 9 and he was paid 1.31m per game <laugh>

And people thought the Torres deal was bad! haha

(At least we signed Bogarde on a free though).

hehe I know its pathetic isnt it.

How can they call themselves athletes though, when they have no drive, no ambition, they just dont give a ****, they are given the chance to play football at that level, something every kid dreams of, and they pull that ****......

Phil Babb, Martin Skrtel, Glen Johnson. I hate defenders who play crap for years and still somehow get in the team
