No Watfordftx - I would like him to get as far as boxing day and then sacked after losing a 1-0 lead in the last few minutes against us thanks to a Eustace equalizer and a stoppage time Doyley 30-yard screamer which he follows up by celebrating infront of that man whose name shall not be mentioned.
And just for good measure he gets nutted by SD when he goes to shake his hand at the end of the game!
I really don't know what some Watford fans expect. This is professional football. It's a business. We can't expect Mackay to have forgotten all he knows. We can expect the club to contractually oblige him not to do this. They didn't. I can understand some CCFC fans' confusion here. Either we don't rate Mackay or we do. Either we rate Cowie or we don't. We can't be pissed off he's left then say he's half-decent. If he's only half-decent then why are we upset? I rated Mackay and I still do. He is one of the better managers in this division. He works well on a budget and also seems to motivate the players. I wasn't always happy with him tactically but I think he does understand the concept of good football. Cowie is an excellent Championship player. No two ways about that, he is a massive loss to our club and I'm very upset he has gone. Why did the club not put a contractual clause into Mackay's dealings with CCFC that he was not allowed to use his detailed knowledge of the club's affairs to his advantage? Why is this not in his original contract? CCFC have come out of this very well. We have not. Dyche is our manager because we have no money. Cowie is a huge loss. Mackay is quite a loss too. Graham going was a massive loss if expected. However, despite our Cardiff friend slagging off Dyche, I'm very happy SD is our manager. He is an honest decent man and has the support of the players. I am very happy we have Ian Woan from Portsmouth. The Portsmouth fans were gracious enough to say that he was a good man and a loss their club. If players want to jump ship, let them. I don't half-committed players. We have a lot of young talent at the club. We have Deeney and Sordell, we have Eustace, we have Taylor (I better stop there or this might turn into a CCFC shopping list!). Let's stop carping about the bolted horse and work out how to lock the stable door to stop it happening again. We need to sign Martin Taylor and John Eustace to contracts that bind them to the club - we need them more than ever now. We need to make sure that if Sean Dyche goes he is not able to use detailed contractual knowledge. Shore up and take this as a lesson learnt in how not to get your fingers badly burnt. We can't expect professionals to do anything other than look after themselves - they are professionals. They don't play for us as a favour or love of the club alone. They get paid to do it, their first allegiance is to their families and themselves.
Well as Mods you and Norway now have to make your own decision and do not need permission from me. For what it is worth I would NOT delete as they are responding to fair comment and I welcome the debate albeit they are gloating. Most people here are in favour of free speech and against censorship so if I were you I would only delete if you have pressure from a number of our regualr posters - but as I say you must develop your own styles of modding
Well neokutai I hope when a manager lets you down as badly as MM has us you might sympathise a little more with us and understand what it feels like. You are probably right that we are bitter and our comments reflect that. However when we were praising MM he was exceeding expectations by holding a team who were favourites for relegation in the top 6 - but one win in the last 15 or so saw us fall to the bottom half of the table - which is where we finished both seasons under him - so over a whole season you judge your man - not on a good run as we were. Of course you would rather be supporting Cardiff at the moment but that is because we got into severe financial difficulties and don't have Far Eastern millionaires to take us out of it - if we had do you really think MM would have moved to you from us. We will see how many of your fans are happy when MM cannot even match your sacked manager's achievements.
To be fair, unless it is a comment that infringes the law it should stay. If we start deleting comments just because we don't like them or because they wind us up, then we are on a slippery slope. Is any comment that someone doesn't take a liking too, at risk of censorship? We should combat them with reasoned thought, highlight their ignorance and stupidity (if it exists), or simply ignore them.
Being a mod is a real responsibility and the efforts of mods are I'm sure greatly appreciated by the masses. However if mods are going to delete posts based on the opinions of a few regular contributors I can see a problem. There is a danger that minority opinion will be suppressed. Surely mods should enforce forum rules. If posts are within the rules but are not worthy of the forum then the rules need adjusting?
Graham Taylor knows what would happen to the much wanted Match Threads if moderators from both teams are going to remove posts willy-nilly. "YEESSSSS!!!! 1-0" Mod: Blatant WUM. Delete.
I'm sorry if it seemed that way, perhaps my wording could have been a bit better. I was just pointing out the fact that Sean Dyche has had very little experience regarding a managers position but yet there seem to be people willing to slag off Malky Mackay's managerial quality. I understand that Watford fans are hurt by this whole scenario, but we too know what its like to lose out of contract players (Bothroyd and Ledley are the best examples), Its a part of football but life goes on. This is not a direct attack on Sean Dyche who is obviously rated highly by some Watford fans and to be honest, i would have loved to have seen him as Malky Mackay's number 2. Pehaps it will work out for the best, perhaps it won't but there is no doubting Dyche's passion and he is exactly the right man to drag Watford through these tough times Anyway, good luck for the new season and best of luck to Sean Dyche as he embarks on his managerial career.
I just did not like the Anti -Scottishness on here, Luckily I refused to read all of it, I just skimmed over most of it but the tirade was stupid, again I ask what would you have said if he was English or would have regionalised it, is Geordie, Brummie, etc etc! No it is not right that he has shafted us by bringing Cowie and the Backroom staff, but Conway was not our player he was our wanted list but come on if someone is going to offer a player more money, what are they going to do? Think about it you are in a specific line of work there are two companies, one is offering more money doing exactly the same job! What are you going to do!?! Forget about loyalty, there is hardly any in Football!
Thank you Neokutai. Although I'll get shot for saying it, the very best to you too. I agree al with what you say of Conway. He didn't owe us any loyalty anyway. He was impressed by the manager, the manager moves and insodoing can offer him more money. What's he expected to do? We've made a lot of money out of DG. Are Carlisle fans bemoaning the fact that we've made a killing on him (could have been more)? We made a lot of money on Young's sell-on, that would've been nothing if he'd gone on a free. You win some, you lose some. We've lost a few on the trot here. But anyone thinking that A. Taylor has been stolen by Malky is in cloud cuckoo land. He was very unlikely to sign for us, massively unlikely. Suddenly some people are writing as if that was nailed on!
I wondered how long it would take before one of the Watford "fans" would play the race card................ You have just proved what a bigoted piece of scum you are, and none of your remarks has no credibility from now on, your manager left for what he regarded as a better job with a bigger club, one of your players who was out of contract was made a better offer than your club made. Your sad, bitter, twisted, racist remarks just show you up for the muppet you are, crawl back under your stone you evil racist idiot.
