i wondered if he didn't have time to put his weight onto his left foot for hitting it with his right, but i think he did. it looks like he's tried similar in training and it's worked okay. bit like the reverse sweep in cricket that looks awkward but now happens regularly. his decision process has taken moments as he didn't get a lot of time for in depth analysis before shooting. sometimes you do just have to try it on. if he'd missed but not by much, people would have said it was a good effort.

People are saying it's genuinley one of the best pieces of individual skill they have ever seen. It's just ridiculous. It doesnt even come close to something like this:

One of the best pieces of skill to actually achieve something I have ever seen.

If it was scored by someone playing for AC at the San Siro you'd have loved it.

you may be right. on the other hand, it was the outside of his left foot rather than the inside of his right and so might have allowed him to bend it more. or maybe not. perhaps it was just instinctive in the short amount of time he had. it was interesting, but not the best goal i've seen. not even this season.

I've been a huge Lamela fan for years, he was brilliant for AS.

No it doesn't come close, it's a million miles better than that.

What are you on about achieving something anyway?

Put a skill into necessary use. Salas did the only thing possible to score from that position, Lamela was just poncing around showing off.

The key question is would Lamela have done that at 0-0 with 5 mins left in a Champions League final? I'll answser it for you - would he ****. He'd have hit it with his right.

Well when you put it like that bum chinned crab, playing sexy on the floor football is pointless and achieves nothing that a long ball game can't do. Put the ball in the onion bag

Yes, totally. I mustve stated 50 times on here how much I f**ing despise tikka-takka and how the aim of football is to score more goals than the opposition. Nothing more, nothing less.

I'd rather fist my own arse than watch Spain or Barcelona. I'd take our direct style over 50 sideways passes and back to the keeper any day of the week.

I don't play video games no.

It's a fun goal. I'm glad football isn't 100% functional, and is occasionally very bespoke.

    That's why I think it's a good goal.

I agree he could have done the same with his right, but doing so with the left is more cocky, thus entertaining. And in a game I would watch as a neutral, I appreciate it.

Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't a certain D Beckham make a living out of using only one peg?

It's a ****ing wonder goal, what don't you get bcc? It's great because hardly anyone could've done it. No one wants to go and watch a team of safe passers, we should be applauding the invention, the confidence, the 'cantona-esk' - ness.
