Anyone remember the Green cross code adverts? RIP Alvin.

The upper class twit in this clip is none other than the co-creator of Allo Allo and Are you being served, Jeremy Lloyd.

One of the truly nice guys in the music industry WYSIWYG

Influential when you see how many other artists were inspired by the look, one being Adam Ant

Bernard William Jewry aka Shane Fenton aka Alvin Stardust.

Aged 12 his first guitar cost just £1 but over the years it has been signed by many names including Buddy Holly and the crickets, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Sir Cliff Richard and is estimated to be worth £1m now.

For those Alvin Stardust fans out there he has finished a new album due out next month. He said recently ""best work yet"".

R.I.P. Alvin Stardust. Another one gone and a sad loss.
