I'm sure we were a bit naughty over there as well though! During our imperialistic expansion we caused a lot of grief, injustices and death to all sorts of people. Try to take over the world, you are gonna get stung, which we found out and in the end couldn't take, hence why we now only own a few islands in the middle of nowhere! I am not one of those ashamed of the British Empire though mind. It was just the way things were back then! Nobody knew any better!
The fact is that the murder of British soldiers was widely known. eg. the Sergeants Affair was in the newspapers (including photos of their hanging bodies) and condemned officially by all sides including UK based Jews and Israeli based Jews. There were reprisals by the British in Israel and anti Jewish rioting in the streets of the UK. It could hardly be swept under the carpet! I think there can be sympathy shown for both sides and fully understandable why there's hatred saved for those directly involved......so why do you feel the need to bring this sad part of history up now????
