RIP Alvin, indeed. Took the missus to see some 70's tour he was on at the Empire quite a few years back. He did they best version of Shake It All Over I'd ever heard. A class act!

He lived in Mansfield so I know bits & bobs about him. Shane Fenton, iirc, was the name of the group founder who died ....... his mam asked the new singer to keep the name so he did. He was a chorister at Southwell cathedral which is a beautiful building. Oh yeah, I used to know the bands drummer but that's my entire knowledge I reckon.
