Yep. And he runs straight into the opposition player every time. Someone needs to sit him down and show him back on tape what he looks like, as he clearly doesn't have the intellectual ability to figure it out for himself.

    Couldn't get back

That was his issue as per

    Nobody helped

Our lot are pussies who should've fouled a lot more and prevented fast breaks. We simply never let them know they were in a game

Madrid looked easy all night. The worst is they weren't concerned when we had the ball, and they let us have it, because they knew there was nothing doing up top and they could walk it up the pitch on the counter whenever. The amount of times Coutinho or Lallana or Sterling had the ball on the edge of their area and there was nothing on in the box was absolutely awful. What's the point of even going beyond the halfway line when you know time and time again there's nothing on?!

This isnt even the thread for this comment but im posting it anyway.

When a real player had the ball he had 3 options all within 15 yards of him , all night long. When they didnt have the ball they pressed and harried all night long making our players rush and panic.

When a Liverpool player had the ball he basically was on his own with his men running away from him. When we didnt have the ball we were chasing shadows because of the 3 options mentioned above.

The first 15 mins we harried and pushed but then ran out of puff. Heads dropped after the first goal and a few gave up after the 2nd. When the 3rd went in it was a question of will Madrid go for blood or be content with 3 goals away from home at an alledged European giant.

I say alleged because we are a million miles from competing with the likes of Madrid, Munich, Barca, hell we got beat by basle who shipped 7 against real. We scrope a home win against minnows.

Yep, 142 passes in the final third for us, 102 for Real. A whopping 40 f**ing % more.

After that, no intelligent movement, no creation, no instinct, no nothing. We slow it down and lose confidence exactly where last year we'd run gungho with it. Partnerships in forward lines are not working in training.

Think we're seen as being on the same level as Basel by the giants, which is prob not far off and true going off performances.

Even the most staunch Johnson supporters must see through the **** now.

Problem is, even with Manquillo in there, it is only part of a problem solved as Skrtel, Lovren, and Sakho don't seem to click with each other, at all!

For me lovern did ok last night is a difficult situation and 2/3 occasions showed his true talents. Namely timing challenge and waiting and holding guys up. He stopped several dangerous counters

Skertl on the other hand looked tired and out of legs.

We need to see sahko and lovern together for a few games surely.... Or to annoy the saints fans but fibre as their secret....

Johnson is ok, going forward.... The reality is he can't get back and has lost legs.... Ergo he can't contribute in a Rodgers team as this is vital. For a side sitting back fine he could easily play but to attack like Rodgers needs? He's done.

Finally I agree with hash the amount of isolated wide players for us was silly I saw countless occasions a Moreno or lallana would get it with 2/3 Madrid players closing in and a sterling etc run away rather than towards him for simple pass

We had no bookings in the entire match which tells a story - couldn't get close to them, and afraid to foul them.

  13. I thought we played well in the opening half hour. I also thought our heads dropped after the second goal, this is when we stopped pressing and just sat back. I believe Glen Johnson is one of the main culprits for dropping his head and accepting defeat. He was playing well in that opening half hour and gave C.Ronaldo very little time resulting in little joy for marmiteboy. After that first goal (yep, first, before the other players), Johnson became **** on a stick!
