He is ok, does a job with the minimum of fuss. Of course we could better than him (possibly Collison) but he is someone who will give everything for the good of the team and that is what we have built this squad upon.
They say that every good team needs a water carrier, it's just that Skuse is a bit more like a water juggler. I think it's noticeable when he doesn't play though, and our full backs are being allowed to bomb forward because of him (or someone else) sitting deep in front of our backline.
He does a good enough job BUT when he gets the ball I just wish his first thought was 'can I play it forward' rather than the backwards pass that nearly always comes from him
I think he's clearly a talented player, he's just very very frustrating, I've never known a midfielder with such a lack of drive particularly one who actually has a good passing range. I've always been the first to stand up for players like Leabitter and Magilton when they were being criticised for passing sideways/backwards but they always tried to pass it forwards when they could and passed backwards if there wasn't an option to go forwards just to keep the ball, they also played with tempo. It seems Skuses first though is to pass it backwards or sideways and once he's done this he never makes him self available for the pass, IMO he needs a rocket up his backside, he needs some umph to his play and play with a bit of purpose and tempo, he IMO is capable of taking the game by the scruff of the neck and being a top top player, unfortunately he just seems content to do a job. Another thing is particularly in a 442 when he plays our midfield looks extremely unbalanced because we only have 1 CM attempting to show some sort of forward thinking. IMO he is a wasted talent who doesn't take enough risks or show enough intent, he is the embodyment of what Mick is all about
Exactly Spanish,Skuse is MM's main man on the pitch.Surprising he's not skipper as from where l sit you can clearly see Mick and Terry constantly conveying instructions about what they want from him.
