Can't ever remember to have seen better pundits than Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher. This is well worth a watch.
I really enjoy Neville's commentary. It's great we gave him an opportunity to say nice things about us for the first time this season.
Good post, cheers Norway. They were spot on about the shambles of Liverpools winner. Dunne and Caulker should have been where Isla and Traore were, and we should of filled those holes to nullify the counter-attack. I wonder who made the decision to call Caulker back. Bizarre ! I said to my mate in the ground after Vargas scored his second that Gerrard was too busy having a go at Vargas. I was watching him thinking at the time what was he banging on about? Vargas thought the same. He looked at him as if to say ''whatever mate,'' and ran off to meet the ball from the corner while Gerrard continued to moan.
Quote - the crowd were baying for another... where was Harry - half the team is saying attack - half the team says attack - on the last free kick - what is role of the manager at this point? How can he blame the players for being naive? 'They thought they could get the winner' - the emotion was emotional....is this not where the manager comes in - to say get back?///
Dunne was definitely calling Caulker back, whether that was from instructions from the bench whilst Fer was lining the free kick up I don't know but You'd have thought Fer would have had a go at goal knowing a miss would have put the game to bed...
Superb analysis as always from those two. The only thing I would add is, whilst I agree that Traore and Isla were in terrible positions, Fer only had to put the ball in the corner.........the loft.....the roof of the Springbok...........anything other than what he did!! Having said that, as Neville said, the emotion in the stadium was incredible by that stage and young players got carried away.
Excellent analysis, it warms the heart to hear them talking about how the our crowd have such an influence on the pitch, even if it went against us for the third goal.
Great analysis... certainly puts most of the MOTD team to shame with their incredibly shallow analysis full of buzzwords and pre-conceived notions. Players can/ should be trained to be able to block out the noise from the stands... many American Football teams will train with crowd noise before away games so they know how to communicate with each other. Of course, that would take us actually doing work on the training pitch, rather than trying to sell our books etc...
Two silly sods with Amstrad versions of oversized iPads So easy to pick things apart as Neville called it right on the live commentary … Go on QPR get a winner The match was a great bit of unscripted entertainment with a shock finale The analysis is the problem with how we all look at football now … it's complete rubbish and certainly is scripted there will never be a episode of MNF that contains the theme … nothing to waffle about this week as every thing was perfect It is however better than MOTD as a bit of entertainment These silly sods have changed the game for the worse IMO
Easier to highlight these things 24 hours after the event than at the time and hard to fault the team for actually trying to get a winner when you have a capacity crowd roaring you on...... As Soops and Col have said earlier if Fer wasn't going to have a shot at goal the ball should either have gone to the corner flag or into the loft to kill the gain and take the point we had at that time, we ended up with the worst of both worlds..... Have to say i prefer listening to Neville & Carragher rather than Shearer & Co on MOTD as they do have a better feel for the game, mind Shearer did provide a lol moment last season seeing him trying to get to grip with an IPad to do an analysis and failing miserably......
