RIP Don Ratcliffe

    For those of us who are of a certain age, ex Stoke winger Don Ratcliffe has died. I remember him well as I began watching Stoke in 1960 and he was the regular outside left, a dashing winger. He was a member of the successful team which won the D2 Championship though he was eventually replaced by Keith Bebbington as I recall.

    Thats right PP "Ratty" and "Ozzie"Oscroft were both so fast the joke was that unless the gates at Stoke end were closed they would keep going down Campbell Road with their heads down

    I remember my father talking about Don Ratcliffe. Thoughts with his family.
