Daiswan: "sterling work everyone else is doing creating chances for bony"

Yet more proof that Professor Brian Cox is right when he said parallel universes do exist.

But I don't exist in isolation and I am not so arrogant as to believe my initial opinion is infallible. I sign!to want Ki back but he has proven my wrong. I am thankful for that.
What is irritating is when a very small group insist Monk is doing a fantastic job and previous managers didn't when there is much to suggest otherwise.
My position on Monk hasn't changed since he was made caretaker manager - inexperienced at all levels except knowing the club and that has and is showing, and will have a very negative impact on our club.
Is he popular with fans? Undoubtedly.
Does he have the same level,of support as when he took over? Undoubtedly not.

Monk has been manager for 8 games. Are we really that shortsighted that we start slamming him already?

In that case no football manager should feel secure in his job. Especially anyone who manages one of the lower 84 teams in the professional leagues.

Monk got the job he wanted on 6th Feb 2014, he has been in charge since Feb 6th -

22 games in the PL, 2 Europa League games & 1 FA cup, 2 League Cups, 6 friendlies.

That's 33 games in charge, a full pre-season & full summer transfer period.

He's got rid of the players he didn't want.

Slamming is not sacking. 2 points from 5 games and most managers will face criticism. We've been playing some good stuff but were aren't converting it into results. Monk is the Manager and must answer the awkward questions as it's a results business. That's what he's paid for.

Agree! There are some on here who can't wait for him to fail, I wasn't exactly jumping for joy when he was appointed, but I quickly got behind him unlike so many of our Laudrop Sycophants who cannot wait for him to fail, he is still a Rookie 8 games in for goodness sake, get real!...............<ok>

For goodness sake Musty, Last season was international rescue after that inept Laudrop, Monk was a temp manager, he hadn't even been appointed, this season is his first official season as a Swansea manager, and we are just 8 games in, Bob is wrong....<ok>

Come off it, Phill. You blow with the wind. <laugh>

Big call saying some can't wait for Monk to fail. We're all Swans fans, and I haven't seen a single post, even from those that are the most ctritical of Monk, that suggests they aren't prepared to be proved wrong. Stop trying to to factionalise things.

as I said on another thread I don't care who the manager is as long as we are winning, 2 points from the last 5 games is hardly inspiring

I think he's not progressing, we are playing the same way which isn't effective and apart from short bursts in not attractive (eg dropping back after taking the lead in games), players look tired early on and several have looked shattered after 50 - 60 minutes, subs have been ineffective in most games. I accept he's green but how long can we accept that? next 4 games, Christmas, February, in the championship in August next year?
IMO he has taken on more than he can cope with (outburst on Sat could be an indicator of greater stress than we see publicly). He has been given a job with little support and no preparation. Unlike Martinez who succeeded we are. ow in the Premier League, there are greater expectations and Martinez had been planning a move into management for some years before he was given his chance.
Monk has to either be fully supported with an experienced second or replaced. It isn't fair on him to be so isolated and it's not fair on the club for the board to be gambling with success.
Nothing, absolutely nothing would please me more than for Garry Monk to prove me wrong but I'm not holding my breath.
I will fully support him and every player when I'm at games (about 30 a season) but will criticise on board like this in order to take part in, extend or start discussions.

"Monk hater",perhaps you could provide some concrete evidence of where and when I have ever stated that I "hate" anyone. Let me save you some time though, you won't find any.

Your lack of intellect, ability to reason,or debate in a sane and proper manner sets you apart from every poster I have encountered in eight years of 606 'ing.

"Village idiot" this from the Penclawdd one who has an entire thread devoted to his stupidity on the Cardiff Forum.

Look we can all see the issues, and I'm sure the coaching team do as well, but you just can't start dropping the axe after 8 games in, lets see how it looks at the end of November, if it's still the same then I'm with you, and will agree that he is struggling, we all new as a Rookie it was a big gamble at this level, but give him a chance, yes he's under pressure, but lets see how he turns it around, you owe him that much, he did save our bacon last season!..........<ok>

So if he wasn't in charge how can he be given credit for any results prior to the start of the season?

Was he officially our manager last season? NO end of. This is his FIRST season as Manager, 8 games in, FACT!............<ok>

Stop muddying the waters, last season was 'Save our souls' and nothing else, the boy was bloody thrown in the deep end by Jenkins, after one of the most tumultuous seasons ever.
