We are often talking about our weaknesses and where we need to strengthen.
But on a player by player or position by position basis where do you think we have strengh... in terms of basically being able to hold our own in the premiership.
I'd like to offer up Right Back as a position of strength.
We have Janmaat, Raylor, Dummet... Santon and Haidara (the latter can play both flanks IMHO).

Keeper: Krul is premiership class (i.e. could get employment at another premiere league club) Elliott is about the level of most back up keepers

    Right back as you say

Holding mid fielder: Tiote is good, Colback is good back up.

That just leaves 8 positions that need strengthening

I'd say Central midfield. Anita, Tiote, Colback, Sissoko is a good set of central mids.

Defensive and central midfield. Plenty of grafters week can tackle and screen the defence. If one or two of our wingers or attacking midfielders find form then would say we are strong there too, certainly well stocked.

Haha! Full backs? Raylor is ****ter than the right backs playing in League 2. Dummett is a League 1 at best left back.
Santon and Haidara both have potential.
Janmaat is our only option at full back.

Our centre mids overall are also ****e. We have 3 players for 1 playable position and Sissoko (though he is improving) but he is not even utilised at centre mid.

When Darlow is here next season then our only strength is goalkeepers - Krul and Darlow.

We're good at picking the ball out if the net. And we're very polite too, we always let the other team go ahead first.

We're good at picking out Williamson with a long ball - even when he's in the stands!

Having had one last Saturday, we definitely don't.

Or, if we do, God help the other Clubs fans.

I thought that was Ashley's main reason for buying the club. Can't believe that he is even running the pie quality down. Hopefully he will get new ones in January.

Tiote is quality. Janmaat will end up quality once he settles fully. I think Santon would be decent back up there. I think we have decent depth in the box to box midfielder role with Anita, Sissoko and Colback. Sissoko has the potential to be something greater in that role if he'd get his finger out. Aarons is quality and we have decent back up in Obertan :)biggrin:).

    That's it really.

Krul is decent, Colo is decent, Cisse is decent, Perez has potential. De Jong and Cabella may eventually mean we have quality at number 10.

    Otherwise either "meh" or "aaarrgggh".

I think HBA would be top to be fair on pure ability. Sadly bottom on application.
