This is a first for me as i never dispute refs decisions and always back them but i'm afraid on this one then i can't. moses clearly was after a penalty and he cheated himself one with a perfect dive that would give Tom Daily a run for his money. There were 4 officials there and surely one would have seen his actions. The sad thing is moses is a good player who was a thorn in our side all game and he should be ashamed to use cheating to get a penalty. I like sparkey but he clearly sent his players into the game with one agenda and that was to win the game with anyway possible and it worked. the fouls on some of our players were the worst i have seen this season and one or two i would say could even be straight reds but all they got was a yellow. We were cheated out of a point at the end of the day and we must take it on the chin and move on but i hope we dont get this ref again as he was sub standard for premiership football but no doubt we will see him again at some point. Sadly now monk will get a large fine for daring to speak out and that will be another miscarriage of justice.
Monk should get a fine, and as much as I agree with his statement post match, he cannot come out and call another teams player a cheat, even if he is. That said maybe Refs will clean up their decision making, we live in hope.............
Rangel clung onto his shirt, theoretically a foul, in the penalty area - a penalty. Moses dived (supposedly) which is cheating, sending off offence? So a penalty to Stoke & Moses sent off. All this hullabaloo should not be taking centre stage, we should have been leading 3-0, if Ki & Siggy had taken their chances properly along with Bony`s penalty. Monk needs to sort out how we play after the first 30 minutes or so, we seem to lose steam and give the game to the opposition. We need a leader both on the pitch & on the sidelines, both of which seem sadly lacking. It will be interesting to see the reaction of the players & management for the Leicester game, if we lose that one we might be getting near to a critical mass situation! Still. onwards and upwards, or sideways, or backwards!
The difficulty with any kind of sanction in regards to diving, simulation, etc is proof. Sure we can all look at footage and we know moses dived, it's obvious. But if there was to be a ban handed out for this type of thing, it could get so messy which is why I think we don't see action taken. Take yesterday's incident, Stoke could argue moses was held by Rangel, he was off balance, tripped, anything to get around a charge. They tried it with that Arsenal player way back in about 2003 (?) but the ban was rescinded. I just think proving a dive is too difficult for an organisation as spineless as the FA, and as long as the top 5 remains as is and decisions are going against the smaller clubs they couldn't care less, that much we know. A shame really as I thought, the stoke penalty aside, the ref made the right calls through the match.
I admire Monks passion and his straight talking and if he cracks down on cheating in our team then im all for it. However he needs to get a grip on reality, we ve had a couple of bad decisions go against but nowhere near every game and he needs to deal with the real reason we lost against Stoke which was that we were effing rubbish in the 2nd half! THATS what he should be focusing on!
Do they? I had no idea. Hopefully they can implement something similar because the moses dive was embarrassing. Of course there's the argument that it's part of the game now but that's because it goes unpunished. Think it may be the first time I've said this, but let's be more like the SPL!!!
And probably is. By highlighting his frustrations about the refs etc the media etc are concentrating on this rather than the second half performance and has taken the pressure away from the players. Dare I say it, he's done a Fergie/Wenger and successfully deflected attention away from the pitch. If it means we get the three points Saturday, then job done.
Open forum. The debate is football related. Some of you lot cannot resist treating any post from the Capital club into a Cardiff/swansea debate. This has nothing to do with City. When someone like Hartson blatantly lets his obsession with the 2nd city club in Wales get the better of him, and slanders a professional footballer then he deserves everything he's going to get, which should mean being dropped by the BBC As for Monk, Hughes got it spot on when he said that he doesn't have the experience to deal with these issues; he will learn but whether he'll get that experience at PL level is now open to question.
Don't need experience to state the truth. Surprise suprise, the refs association have now said they've recieved the letter and DVD after its union said yesterday they hadn't recieved anything. Oh and we're still in the PL and Monk is still manager so your question wasn't needed to be opened in the first place.
The moderators should ban/sanction this poster who obviously is below intellect given he cannot enter into an adult debate without resorting to puerile and offensive language. I have assumed he agrees with everything I have stated. Incidentally explain this sort of "cheating." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rd65g3hqJrk&feature=youtu.be There must be some examples of a certain Jordi Gomez doing Tom Daley impersonations out there somewhere as well. Double standards from the 2nd city. Again.
And Chico was regularly lambasted by Swansea supporters for being a diver/simulator/over-reactor. What's your point? Hardly double standards. We know a diver when we see one, just as you do. Furthermore, Chico has now left the club and, from Monk's comments about fining/banning players who dive in training, it wouldn't surprise me if it was Monk who directly offloaded Chico. Naivety is the arguable point, but Monk's Swansea do not have double standards in this. It's an open forum and you're obviously allowed here, but you aren't welcome and will most likely face further vitriol if you continue, especially with a name like "ninian opinion". So you've said your piece, now you can leave.
