kicked off big style in level 7 after the game
    Leicester fans throwing bottles galore
of which our mindless lot threw them back
stewards were struggling to keep control but did a good job, what with being caught in the middle

when the police did turn up they sent about 6 policewoman first
most of it had died down by the time they got some big coppers in
it went on for a good 8 minutes

Good result. We were decent at various stages but are still devoid of a ball player to knit it all together. Break the bank for Will Hughes or Grenier.

    Players who deserve a mention:

Saylor - much maligned and I still have my doubts but he looks a better option than Willo right now. Bar one positional clanger he was lucky to get away with, he had a great game with important blocks and tackles.
Obertan - I've decided he is far better than the Gouf now. Not his biggest fan but gets stuck in, is lightning quick and creates chances.
Sissoko - I question his effort and heart at times. He was immense yesterday, and it looked as though Pardew had read him the riot act. If he could put that amount of effort in on a regular basis, he'd have the top sides after him. Back it up for ****s sake you lazy bastard. Its all there, and it is zero to do with management. Sometimes players have to do it for themselves. Effort is one such area and its his sole problem.
Cisse - Yes he missed a couple of sitters but he is playing well. His all round game is improving and he is showing leadership. He is leading the line well.

Gouf - What does he know Alan? Drop the ****er.
Pardew - Was Dummett injured? Why take him off when he is having a good game. Haidara's terrible positional sense nearly immediately cost us a goal.

    Krul's kicking was awful.
In the first half on three occasions he unintentionally hoofed it into touch.

Sissoko was a total beast. He's turning into a very good player IMHO.

Obertan- MOTM by a long way. He seems to have discovered a first touch at long last and his pace was blistering on the counter.

Taylor- seemed to give us stability and organised the defence. A deffo starter for me.

Colback- I was with a mate who supports MAN UTD and even he conceded that we have a good, neat and tidy player in Colback who does the simple things well.

All in all a good performance and more importantly it was good to see the fans back the team throughout.
Only at full time did the boos ring out for Pardew.

Why did Pardew seem to sexually assault Stone after the goal?

Can't agree about Sissoko. He has beast like moments but not continuously nor often enough. Also, for a CM he has a dreadful first touch.

The question is, how have you managed to resist sexually assaulting such a rippling frothy hunk of vivacious man-meat?

Insipid performance, for me. It's only Leicester and again we're fortunate to leave with a win, reliant mainly on the opposition being poor. Anita just isn't going to cut it in this league. Colback is almost identical in build and position, yet shows how it should be done, linking defence to midfield. What we don't have is anyone linking midfield to attack - Obertan (inexplicably) is the only one who can at the moment, but is hugely reliant on counter attacking at pace. Better defenders will not allow him to keep getting it in space. As DMW says, there's no-one knitting it together, we're still a very defensive team, built to stop the opposition and "hope" we get a break, which on Saturday we did.

I guess on paper we should be better. We're playing, or should be playing, a 4-1-2-3 when Tiote's fit. When he's not, we drift to having 2 DM's which sets us back a bit. Cabella, I suppose, was/is supposed to add guile from the left side of the attacking 3, Obertan adds pace to the right (as does Sissoko when he's there) and Cisse is leading the line well apart from a horrific miss. So I understand what we're supposed to be doing, but only Perez looks up to the task because Cabella not only looks a featherweight, but he's as slow as a turtles turd. For the next few games I would probably look at more of a 4-5-1 set up, with Haidara and Dummett on the left (I assume we've actually sold Santon and not told anyone), Sissy, Colback and Tiote in the middle and Obertan again right side. We can go 4-4-2 with Perez easily enough.

It will be very interesting to see a front "three" of Aarons, Cisse and Obertan, if the latter two can keep the form up.

Kruls kicking is pathetic, I have to agree with ACS. Not only does he go long far too often and when there is no need, he also can't aim a kick towards our team for toffee. Its not acceptable really. Pardew was a bit pathetic too, he slumped his shoulders as he bombed another out of play, but instead of bollocking him, then turned and appeared to give him a little clap of encouragement followed by a thumbs up. Maybe I misread this from where I was sitting, but it just looked to me he thought "that's **** Tim, pass it short FFS............oh hang on I don't want you to feel bad, come on Tim". I have defended Pardew at times (sometimes in jest of course) but I hate this ****ing nannying approach to management. I realise some will say "that's modern footballers, you have to be nice to them". It was the same with HBA, he was reluctant to just come out and say it how it is for fear of upsetting a few fan boys. He really does need to grow a pair and stop sitting on the fence. These are grown men getting well paid, if they don't perform they need to be told not encouraged to keep doing the same ****.

This is what Pardew is, though. It's why players - often the more "limited" ones - come out and say it's a great place to play football, because you're given an infinite amount of room to be bad. If you're out of form under Pardew (Gouff, Sissoko, Cisse, Santon, Colo, Willo just a handful of examples) his solution is let you keep playing until you find it again. It's impossibly kind, to a fault. He's the same with Ashley - "He loves the club" is the latest proclamation!! FFS, of course he doesn't love the club. He probably has an affection for the advertising he gets, but that'll be it.

He's never going to change, this is his "style" - and I would suggest is a massive factor in why we never play consistently, why we struggle for form when it goes against us, because instead of rinsing people out he gives them a cuddle.

Personally I thought we were poor, but luckily Leicester were poorer.

Krul - better performance than recently with shot stopping & corners (despite missing the one that hit the crossbar) but he needs to be told not to kick the ball anymore. roll it out to Colo please.

Colo - lacks pace but was better this time round, cleared up after Dummett on a few occassions.
Taylor - was the second best player on the pitch. But that's not saying much. Puts his body on the line for blocks (commendable) and despite his "HOOF IT OUT" clearances was actually fairly tidy. If we're EVER going to score from a corner it'll be him I reckon.
Dummet - Piss poor. Constantly caught out of position.
Janmaat - Too dirty, decent enough going forward but looks a little suspect against pace.
Colback - was OK, he's a good solid defensive midfielder but he kept trying (and failing) at Cabaye-style attacking passes.
Anita - a slightly ****ter version of Colback.
Sissoko - infuriating, he keeps showing glimpses of class but is too inconsistent and gives the ball away too much
    Gouffran - he was anonymous.
Obertan - best player on the pitch, his positional & passing hs improved, but basically his asset is PACE. since we lack any creativity, counter attacks with PACE is all we have.
Cissee - is improving but FOR THE LOVE OF GOD PLAY HIM WITH TWO UPFRONT he's just not a lone striker...

    subs

Haidara - wasn't much of an improvement on Dummet
Perez - looked lively, I'd like to see him up front in a 4-4-2 for A WHOLE MATCH - we might actually score some goals...

Pardew - tactics are still ****, he got lucky. We won by playing slightly less badly, at home to a newly promoted side. You still have to say, if they had scored from that cross that hit the post, I think they would have gone on to win.
