Abel Hernandez' header against Arsenal on Saturday was City's 125th in the premier league spanning over 3 and a bit seasons. For a bit of fun was wondering what everyone's favourite has been over the 125. For me it's still Geovanni's at Arsenal closely followed up by Jela's at St. James Park.
=1st. Folan vs Fulham [h] [2008] =1st. Geovanni vs Arsenal [a] [2008] 3rd. King vs Newcastle [a] [2008] Honourable mentions to Geovanni and Cousin respectively for their goals in the aforementioned Fulham and Arsenal games
Honourable mentions aswell to Aluko's volley at Newcastle, Olofinjana vs Stoke and Diame vs Newcastle. Abel Hernandez' header at the weekend after a 14 pass move is up there too.
Whilst not Premier League, Thudds goal vs Sheffield United was pretty special So, for differing reasons, was Carraghers OG at Liverpool when Mendy ran riot for 20 minutes. We could have had 6 that game had mcShane (I think) not gone off injured and Browny messed up a substitution. We were on top of the world at that point
Other then the obvious ones like Geo vs Arsenal, Spurs and Fulham, Folan vs Fulham. I'd go for Meyler vs Liverpool. It shut a lot of the plastic scousers up. Concidering we where ****e for a season and a half in our first period in the Premier League. 125 goals is quite good in 3 and a bit seasons.
Geo against Arsenal helped me fall in love with City. Jake's against Liverpool was the first City goal I saw live, but I might say Meyler's from that match is the most significant. Hudd's against Fulham was also pretty special.
Not even a city goal for my favorite, nor even a premier league goal....... ...it's Ross McCormack's late winner for Leeds against Watford which knocked the stuffing out of Watford (who may well have prevented City's re-entry into the big league and may never have allowed us to get to 125 goals).
