An 8-0 defeat is absolutely devastating to us, but this would never have happened if the ref Mariner was not in charge. Southampton should have been down to ten men and we should have had a penalty chance to make it 1-2. I firmly believe that it was this disgraceful decision that knocked the fight out of our players.. PS..Mariner had also shown his colours before this when he booked Cattermole for nowt..
Couldn't agree more lads, anywhere else on the pitch and that tackle would have been instantly blown for.
"...but this would never have happened if the ref Mariner was not in charge" Blaming an 8-0 defeat on the Ref? <youcouldnotmakeitup>
I simply cannot agree with this mate. Nothing at all to do with the Ref, it was unprepared, spineless players who just give up. They were an absolute disgrace and to suggest anything else, well, we are bigger and better than that.
Utter ****e...We were well in the game and had probably more possession and shots at goal up until this incident,,,After this mind, it went down hill fast which is perhaps unacceptable..
If you are basically saying that players gave up and went downhill because of a wrong referee decision then that is an absolute outrage from the players and is simply not acceptable. If ever a time a team deserves both barrels then this is it, a joint record defeat. In no way do I hold the ref anyway responsible for what happened today.
A cast iron pen may have changed things as 2-1 is better than the 3-0 it quickly became but Marriners shocker shouldn't detract from the hapless performances of our entire squad when facing defeat. They gave up far too easily for me and its s worry. Time for Gus to show us his nasty side and get the hair dryer out this week. Arsenal performance crucial now. Ps anyone calling for the managers head just do one. Cheers.
The defence went to **** just before the first goal when Southampton appealed for penalty of their own. We never recovered, the midfield were standing off before our penalty shout too. Doesn't matter what happened in the final third as the opposite end of the pitch was a shambles from start to finish.
It should have been a penalty but not a red card. To blame this is far removed from reality though IMO That last half hour was a shameful capitulation. People should be hung out to dry for that
Refs can heap pressure on with bad decisions, we fell apart at Leicester after a shocker from Mark ****enberg. It's a shock result but I think it'll be an anomaly rather than one you'll be dwelling on or have anything to learn from. Same as that result doesn't make Koeman all of a sudden good enough to manage the best sides in the world. Utter bollocks, he's this season's Martinez.
We've had a bad day at the office, but one result doesn't make us a bad team! One thing we do know is that Bridcott is not a full-back.Not blaming the lad at all..players should be playing in their rightful positions, and then we would have cohesion.
