Isnt that a bit ridiculous? If i was on the German side of the border i'd erect a sign saying 4 world cups and 3 european championships (or whatever it is) and then walk away whistling.

I like the fact that you're exactly right, and then pretend you're unsure in an attempt to have us think that German sporting superiority doesn't eat away at you in your every waking moment.

Don't worry, Bummer; it hurts me too <cry>

To be fair it's probably the first time in their entire history the Poles have finally had a stick to beat their superior in every way neighbours with

I've always been annoyed at players like Klose and Podolski for turning their backs on Poland. Agreeing to play for another country's national team stinks really, and it's quite a s**tty thing to do. I know a lot of people will disagree with me, but Poland would have been a far better team if they had those two. I lost a little respect for Chezzy when he opted to play for Wales. He could've definitely played for England if he waited a bit.

Maybe I'm a traditionalist when it comes to this sort of thing, but England's attempt at 'poaching' Januzaj and Arteta was just embarrassing and solidified my opinion on the topic.

    Rant over.

One moved to Germany when he was eight, and the other moved when he was two. I fail to see why that makes them 'German' considering they were both born in Poland, both speak Polish and Podolski still has Polish nationality.

Podolski in particular has a special affinity with his homeland (so he says), but obviously not enough to represent them on the world stage.

Just like Chester (born in Warrington)

Sone A plays for Nigeria - his sister for England,

    What's that all about?

I know Klose is getting on now, but just thinking of the team Poland could have had over the last few years, when you consider they have players like Lewandowski. That would have been a pretty good team.

The irony of that being that she was born in Nigeria and he was born here, just after the family moved. So neither is playing for the country of their birth.

If they'd moved to England at those ages they would have played for us. you know like Raheem Sterling. Or are you saying you can only play for the country you were actually born in?

Obviously our coaching or lack of woulda ****ed em up a treat.

    No, not really.

I'm saying that football players should choose to represent their country of origin. I wouldn't enforce a rule that prevented the likes of Podolski from representing Germany, but I dislike the fact that he would rather play for a foreign country than his own. He's admitted in interviews that he has a strong connection with Poland, but he'd rather play for Germany because they're better.

Let them enjoy a victory over the Germans. They've had to wait over 80 years for it.

Remember the Germans took over their country in 3 weeks.

Podolski has only ever known Germany, he doesn't hold a Polish passport and said the Polish FA weren't remotely interested in him until they saw him playing for Germany. He considers himself German and it's perfectly reasonable that he's playing for Germany and I'm afraid the last bit of your post is completely made up and totally inaccurate.
