What's the best experience you've had in your life? Aside from having kids/getting married, what have some of you lot done that's unforgettable to you? I was thinking about things that have really moved me over my life, when I was trying to get to sleep last night and I think the best thing I've ever done was watching the Orca's from a zodiac off Vancouver Island. We were told all the way there that they were unlikely to be there today but to keep our tickets and we'd get another shot at seeing them for free. The boat stopped in the middle of nowhere and out of nothing, it seemed like hundreds of massive Killer Whales, literally 50 feet from the raft we were in. I was speechless. Can anybody recommend something they've done (not involving heights for me)?
I went on a day trip around the Dominican Republic and was taken to the Brugal rum factory. After the free tour we were taken to the free bar to same all of the various ages of rum. Best day of my life, worst hangover.
Two occasions stand out whilst diving in Cornwall. 1- Being nose to nose with a young seal, competing to see who could blow the biggest bubbles, I won because I had a scuba tank on my back, but the seal tried hard, surfacing twice to take breaths during the contest. Eventually it got bored and started tugging on the end of my fins, possibly to get me to swim around. 2 - Being teased by two Bottlenose Dolphins, one of them caught a small flat fish and 'presented' it to me by putting it on the sand in front of me. I didn't touch it so the flattie swam away, the dolphin chased it, caught it and brought it back, this happened several times. The other dolphin stayed beside me most of the time, I'd swear it was laughing but I don't know whether it was at me for letting the flattie go each time, or it's mate for repeatedly catching it and bringing it back. Eventually, probably after 10 minutes the dolphins got bored, let the flattie disappear and swam off.
Top of Helvelyn on a warm summers night, about midnight, all alone. (My mates hadn't managed the walk up so were camping lower down.) Cloudless sky full of stars, standing arms out stretched and I swear I could see the stars moving across the sky and actually feel the rotation of the Earth.
I've had a lot of sex. I like that. Sometimes there's someone else in the room and that's even better.
Dived with whale sharks and manta rays in The Maldives When your out diving and suddenly this massive whale shark comes and swims alongside you from out of nowhere, it's exhilarating. Renting a deserted island in the Maldives for a day was quite an experience as well, just me and the wife all day on a tiny island.
im glad most of you are talking about experiences such as wildlife or amazing landscapes i'm only 23 so my life experience is vastly inferior but the two that stick out for me 1) waking up in a tent in the scottish western highlands.. there was a herd of deer literally 20 feet away from the tent.. could just see them in the twinling sunrise.. so close.. found it absolutely breathtaking.. it might not seem much but it took our breath away 2) sky diving.. i never ever thought i could do it.. but it's you can't explain.. you can see videos.. but doing it yourself, it's magical, i hated it, i loved it, it actually brings me tears to the eyes, daft as it sounds.. it was just utterly mind blowing.. just falling to the ground, flying like a bird... i didn't fully appreciate it till i was on the ground.. i really recommend anyone to try it, just once.. it's well, i cant explain.. to experience it. wow! 3) 100 mile hike from glasgow to fort william, just me and my best mate, was absolutely breathtaking... camping in the middle of nowhere.. no phone signal.. it was.. im only 23.. mates call me boring for **** like this but i love it.. the amount of stories and things i've experienced just from that will last me a life time
Lucky enough to get close to a blue whale and baby calf off the coast of Iceland, both came very close to the boat and they both gave us a big flip of their tails as they headed off. Very cool and humbling experience to get close to something that majestic. Drove down to Oman in a jeep with the Mrs ( from Dubai, not Helsinki) and decided to try off the beaten track for a place to pitch up for the night. After a bit of Off-roading in the mountains, came onto a completely deserted beach. Did a bit of snorkeling, lit a big campfire and enjoyed the scenery and stars. At about midnight the ocean lit up with phosphorescence. I thought the Mrs had dropped some LCD in me tea, it was pretty amazing. Went for a paddle in it and still had all my toes the next morning. The northern lights, also very cool. Driving through Glen Coe in bright sunshine, next minute a crazy blizzard and the 'mountain pass' covered in sheet ice. We're driving up, some bloke coming down the other way completely out of control, bouncing from mountain side into the barrier and back. Had to time our pass so he didn't take us out which was fookin scary and surreal. had a few drams in Loch Lomond that evening. Covent Garden, Wembley and London in March. Parachuting. Snowboarding down the Kitzteinhorn. Cycling through the Atlas Mountains. I've been lucky enough to have had some pretty cool experiences, as most have said thanks to Mother Nature....including a few near death experiences driving/cycling/paddling.
One of the best experiences in my life was when I caught some t**t burgling my house....<tooled up.com>
Good on you, little scumbags deserve everything they get I remember when me and my step father caught three lads sitting in my brothers car outside the house attempting to snap the steering lock. Well by the time we gave chase, we caught one of them and I know how that went down...
One time I remember was brewing up some magic mushrooms on a trip out to the country with mates and getting stoned in a field full of cows. We were off our tits and pissing our pants laughing all the time and when one of us tripped up and went arse over tit, this cow came up to him and started licking him all over. Bloody silly really, but one of the happiest afternoons of my life.
I'd have been tempted to have given them anal that would have been something to tell their grandkids about <if they ever live that long>
Superhomo to the rescue! After an unfortunate incident with a hamster that had been rehomed from animal testing, Dorty mag gained the super power of enhanced homosexuality.
