    I think it goes without much saying for those that know me about my my thoughts on the above.

    and what i think of this comment;

    But some clubs, particularly those in the Premier League, point to packed-out stadiums as proof they have got pricing right.

    So Arsenal have a match day ticket at £97, £29 down on the season before....seriously what social class of people can afford these prices, week in, week out, excluding any other match day purchases?

    They can discuss improved stadiums, players wages, transfer fees blah, blah, blah...but football was never meant to be like this. Just give me a lower league game, a pint of beer and i'm happy....but how long before we are priced even out of that by the stereo conformists of the modern game.

    i think the important figure is the cost of the cheapest season ticket as that allows a fan to watch the team week in week out. if that's a decent price then the club are doing enough to make watching football accessible for their fans. If other fans are able, and wish to pay more for different seating then great as its more investment for the club in question.

    In terms of entry level, Gillingham are one of the cheapest season tickets in league 1 according to this survey so i guess our chairman has got it right on that level.

    Next important stat would be cheapest matchday price and we fair ok in that respect too now.

    As long as the cheaper options are sufficient in number, The cost of highest match day ticket is almost irrelevant and will pretty much be determined by what the market is willing to pay. Makes a good headline though. Most people when booking a hotel room take a standerd room and its that cost that matters. There is normally a grand suite or penthouse option there but if you are not going to take it , who cares what it costs?

    Its ok having the options if they are available...ie prem clubs.

    If they are not then cost works in favour of the haves and have nots.
