Some decent fare at Punchestown and a couple of rare midweek fancies for me.

3.45 Alechi Inois 11/8
Willie Mullins' runner is on a 4-timer. That'll be a 5-timer tomorrow.

4.20 Don Cossack 9/4
Not as confident as I am on the Mullins runner but with Elliotts' stunning stable form I'm taking the chance at 9/4 this lad is near match fitness.

The double with B365 pays 6.7/1. I've had 2 singles and a double. Take these prices, take them now :) Good luck.

Brighton 210 pharoh jake looks a bit big at 8s with Carson onboard , in what looks like an entertaing race with a few that go well at track and in heavy conditions . But something tells me to side with a runner only slightly tested in soft conditions and it happens to be in a race that supplied a good finnish and time a hd behind pharoh carrying 8lbs more. Tomorrow after taking a 7lbs claim into account sees them on level weights , tomorrow's claimer is one Hector Crouch who is operating at a very good s/r especially here at brighton and incidently goes well with tomorrow's partner BIRDIE QUEEN currently 10s .
Good luck all

Completely agree re alelchi inois however I will be opposing Don Cossack with Roi Du Mee. This is his time of year, he generally performs well and then drops off as the season progresses and has won this race twice already. At the prices I'll take him to win

In fact at 11/8 I would have had £1600 of my "Betting Bank" on it. But as I only have a tenner left I won't bother <laugh>

15:20 Wincanton - Taaresh

(Don't really like backing one with just a 7-day break from LTO in NH racing, but probably has a decent chance in this event).

The New One is entered at Kempton on Sunday in the same race he thrashed Rock On Ruby in last year. Forgotten Voice looks to be his main rival this year (if he lines up).

In other news, your bloody rain from the UK has spread to Berlin, although we are forecast 23°C and sunshine on Sunday so might be able to squeeze one last bbq in <ok>

Anyone got any good jokes?

Afternoon all. Todays question:

Chiquita- filly trained by Aiden O'Brien.

Why did Coolmore pay €6MILLION for her? Someone just run me through the commercial thinking there as to how that will make money.

Is it to be a broodmare I assume? They aren't quite as lucrative as stallions but I suppose if she produced a star colt she would have indirectly paid her way.

I do think she will have a very good chance on Saturday though to sign off with a Group1 win <ok>

Probably a tax write-off Toppy - they've made too much money so need to get rid of some. We have no idea how things work in circles like that (or maybe you do - still in the banking sector??)

Roi Du Mee looks a big price at 4/1, I like the Don and lost plenty on him last season but Gigginstown normally pulling strokes here, Roi Du Mee has won this twice and just got beat by the Elliot/Gigginstown outsider of 3 last year. Can see him being fitter for it than the Don who will have bigger targets later and could get be hard to catch with a soft lead.
