I think that Strachan, like us, appreciates his attacking threat but realises, again like us, that against top class opposition he might still be a little suspect defensively.
Bollocks, I hope they bring him on at some point, his replacement is playing much more like a fullback than a wingback, in saying that if he doesn't play he'll be fresher for Arse
Exactly, he's great going forward but been a bit lucky defensively with his game, noticed Diame and others helping him though so should get stronger positionally too
whitakeer has much much more experience in bigger games and this is a huge game for us, it's not because robertson is **** defensively
I feel like they just want to manage his work load and three games in a week would be a bit much for him at this stage. And I reckon Bruce might have been in his ear about keeping Robertson fresh for Arsenal.
Didn't someone point out recently that he tires noticeably after 75ish minutes? Maybe the plan is to bring him on against tired legs ... we'll soon see.
Cheers for that Tuckin. That was impressive. Anyway, f*****g 20 years old and tired after 75 mins. They don't know what tired is!!
Stamina actually builds as you get older, and as Akbar says, Robertson has only being playing and training professionally for the last eighteen months. You honestly want to slate this lad ?
I think he is fantastic. But I get sick and tired of all this tired crap. When I was his age, I was doing a full week at work plus 10 hrs overtime and going to college 2 nights a week. With homework it was = 70 hours a week. They play a couple of games maximum a week.
its completely nonsensical to make statements like that it's a different kind of 'tiredness' playing professional football really takes it out of your body and on the muscles and joints, and if someone's not 100% they shouldn't play for the benefit of not only themselves but the team
Unless you've been living under a rock you'd know there's the same debate about Sterling. Look at guys like Wilshere and Walcott and consider how much they were playing when they were younger. You can't drive young guys into the ground, need to give them adequate rest or they'll just pick up injury after injury because their body hasn't adjusted. Add to that that Robertson has only trained professionally for the last 18 months and consider his fitness base won't be as strong as a Sterling or Wilshere.
Don't agree with the comment re. 'fitness base', fitness levels vary according to specific training routines but core fitness depends on the individual regardless of how long they have been training professionally
