Hi guys!!!

Quick scenario for you:

If it meant you would be able to make 5 player signings of your choice (no limits on price) would you agree to a ground share situation with Ipswich in Diss?

Hi UA, nice to see you.

It's an interesting one, but you're going to have to give a bit more detail on this scenario for us to make a call:
(1) where would the ground be in/around Diss?
(2) what capacity would it be?
(3) what would the terms of ground sharing be?
(4) have you thought about transport to and from the ground? I.e. would Diss station be expanded?
(5) who would fund the signings?
(6) how would we pay their wages?
(7) would Ipswich also be allowed to make these five signings?
(8) if the answer to (7) is yes, what if there is a conflict between our desired signings?
(9) how long would the contracts be?
(10) what would be the terms of on-sale?

Minor details to be sorted out a few weeks ahead of it taking place. But would you?

No, they aren't minor details because these would have an important impact on the decision, so I'll need answers before I could make a call. For example, the terms of the ground share would be integral - if it involved us playing on consecutive days, that might be unacceptable. Likewise, the rules on what players we would be allowed and how it would be financed in the short and long term - integral to the decision.

Not least, of course, planning permission. That takes weeks to get through and we might be obliged to contribute towards road rebuilding, etc. How is that to be financed? All these would have to be considered now if we were to be able to ground share in, say 2016.

Also, what's the long term purpose of this ground share? Is it to redevelop both Carrow Road and Portman Road? Why do they need redeveloping?

It would be great if you could answer these questions, then I can give you a definitive answer

Ok how about ground sharing the existing Colchester stadium instead?

I'd say UA's bluff has been well and truly called, and he's been found wanting! <ok>

Well it would be similar questions - I'd need answers.

Why don't you give the answers a go best you can and I'll see if I can make a call based on the extra information?

I asked the same question to the ITFC fans and they just said an outright NO….they would never consider ground sharing with Norwich. Funny that you guys would? (Going by wanting further details)?????

Anyway, cheers guys – think I have my answer!!!!

If Ipswich had half the new stadium could we force them to have upturned bins as seats?

I think it would be a call based on a lot more detail rather than a straight yes/no so I don't think anyone has said they would. It would be something that should be considered carefully. Do you consider things carefully?

If you'd be so kind as to at least do your best to answer at least some of the questions above, then I'd be able to give you something definitive

This is an excellent point. Please can you add to the list of outstanding questions UA?

We would need to consider how the colour scheme would work. Who would fund changes? Upturned bins for Ipswich would be a simple solution, with green and yellow seats for when we play. They could cover the seats with bin liners. I'm not sure how they'd afford it though. Would we have to contribute?

Another good question KoPR. My apologies though - I would add it to the list, but I'm a little bit worried I've upset UA now. I was trying to be helpful and friendly, but my questions seem to have scared him off as we have radio silence from his end

Conclusion using all of the above as exhibition A:

ITFC - fans have modicum of pride
NCFC - hmmmm. Disappointing to be honest. Might need to re-evaluate my 2nd team.

Well it might help you evaluate if you'd be so kind as to attempt to answer the questions above?

Obviously we would be disappointed to lose an honest supporter, but if my definitive answer to your scenario helps you one way or t'other, so be it.

Sorry if my questions are a bit annoying or have upset you - that wasn't my intention. Your response is much appreciated
