Richard Hughes bunking off Leicester early tomorrow thus missing an odds on ride in order to ride at Wolverhampton. Is that a tip in itself?

Stick do you see anything troubling El Namoose in the bumper at Huntingdon tomorrow? Looks a very high class performer and the others don't look too great on paper. Any word on the Longsden runner?

Having a little interest on STEEL STOCKHOLDER 20-1 Newcastle 5:30 tomorrow. On his best form he would hose up off this mark and it is very interesting that the yard are bringing him back after a mid season freshening break. His last three runs were over too far but conditions tomorrow are spot on. I wish his yard were in better form but you cant have everything!

The Longsdon runner is a really nice sort odddy. They bought him at the Brightwells sale for 45K after he won what they think was a decent P2P in Ireland. He won the race last year with a similar sort, the market will tell you all you need to know but getting 10lbs I expect they fancy their chances!

Yeah the weight could be a great leveller. Was very impressed by the Ferguson horse last time but could have been beating trees. You're right though, watching the market will be the best guide.

Wolverhampton 20.00 Party Royal 10/1. Inconsistent but back in April 100/1 finished 9½L behind Grandeur in the Coral Easter Classic All-Weather Middle Distance Championships, having made most of the running. He has run in better company off a mark of 85 and has twice won off 84. In a Class 2 over C&D back in March and off a mark of 85, 33/1 ran a good race to finish just 1l behind Whispering Warrior who then went on to readily beat Spirit Of The Law in a class 2 off a rating of 91. Last time was only 3rd off 78. That was his 3rd outing since the move to Mrs R Carr and the first time he had been ridden by J P Sullivan. Same jockey today. Party Royal has run well in much better races than this and now finds himself on a mark of 77, 7lb below his last winning mark. He's no banker but 10/1 looks a reasonable price for a horse that must surely win a race soon for the new trainer.

Darley seem to be 'throwing' 2yo horses at Mrs Windsor at the moment. The third 2yo colt she has received from them (Dartmouth and Capel Path being the previous 2 and both winners) is an Ifraaj colt called Conflicting Advice: an Iffraaj youngster out of a mare called Assertive Lass. I can only think this is the Australian Assertive Lass, who was a pretty good filly. Can you remember her Cyc?
For us old gits an interesting pedigree as in the bottom line is a mare called Pin Up Girl whose daughter Review dropped Fleet, Pourparler, Democratie, Display and others.

Quite how Darley got her I don't know.

Runs in the 2nd at Leicester. Harbinger's full-brother runs in the same race.

We run Present View tomorrow at Huntingdon, which is the same race we started him off in last season, before he went on to win at the Cheltenham Festival. He had a lovely long holiday after that, and this is a prep run before we aim for the Paddy Power Gold Cup. This race fits in nicely as it is a month away from the Cheltenham race, and our chase mark will not be affected by the result. Although fit enough to do himself justice tomorrow, our target is not a novice hurdle at Huntingdon in mid October, it is the Paddy Power….. fingers crossed he goes and wins tomorrow, but he will improve for this run.

    Jamie Snowdon Racing

So say the Snowden camp but its A Kings runner with two top runs in bumpers , winning a bumper by 6L here before a hard fought effort 4th in the champion bumper at Aintree. Good when fresh and yard and jock in excellent form ought to prove me right .ORDO AD CHAO.. WIN 320pm

    trainer 23% @ Huntington & 27% this year 14 wins from 51 runs

    3wins, 2nd and 3rd last 6 runners..

jockey 17% last year and 19% this season

Leicester 540 looks a tight race with quite afew acting on softer ground but I am going to side with allergic reaction at double figures decent jockey, weighted nicely , in reasonable form the only down side is the draw but im sure Kingscote will get them out quick .
    good luck all

Morning, troops. More rain this morn.

Cor blimey oh to be a bookie chappie betting at a meeting today. A licence to print money. 25% of the runners will be out for an introductory run, 26% will be ‘over the top’ for the term and 29% will hate the ground. The sort of days racing you only bet on if you are in the know or the need of a straightjacket. I’ll let members decide for themselves who falls into which category!

Good luck though if you do trade.

Present View will have to be targetted elsewhere for his prep for the PPGC. Non runner today.

I see on Friday at Cheltenham a new bar will open ‘The See You Then Bar’. Named, of course, in honour of Mr Henderson’s former champion. The animal was a bit before my time but what a wonderful gesture. The 'boozer' will be opened by his former saddle monkey, Steve Smith-Eccles, and the former’s favourite trainer.
