At least the reported 'Done Deal' was as we expected a load of bull. No deal on the table (yet!) is good enough for me for now.
I'm surprised at the results so far to be honest. Seems a lot of Saints\fans aren't being entirely realistic/honest.
I personally think that he won't go to Arsenal as they don't spend big (as in the money up front for young players). So unless they change the way they operate I don't think they will go in for him. He could quite easily go to another club though, but I would say I'm about 70% that he will stay
I think most people are responding with what they wish rather than what they think is likely to happen. Personally I want him to stay but the opportunity of a big club and big money is hell of a thing to resist especially if you are not getting sound advice from your Dad who should know better.
No, I'm basing it on what Adkins said, though appreciate that things can change at anytime. No offer so far, Chamberlain happy, money available now for purchases. Can't see Arsenal wanting to pay top dollar for a youngster, but not to say ManU won't come in.
I'm quite confident he'll join Arsenal, but unless it's for a ridiculous fee I do hope I'm proved wrong.
It's the 1st July today; let's see where we're at on 31st August. Chambo destroys people in our first 3 or 4 games, then the fee will go up and they'll all come running.
I think we could see a situation where he puts in a transfer request on 30th August if he's not gone by then, hoping that this forces a sale. Also, the bigger picture is he only has two years left on his contract. This summer (or possibly Janurary) could be the only chance we get to sell him for a big fee. As soon as he is in the last year of his contract then his price will drop rapidly.
You'd have thought that his dad being an ex-pro, he might have some sense and he would realise that Chamberlain would be better playing regular football for a couple of years. I hope his mum speaks more sense than his dad.
I think that what I think, will have no bearing on it one way or another, but what I do know is that he will only leave for a shedload of money.
To be fair though, players don't necessarily always act in their best interests (at least from a non-financial point of view), for example James Milner leaving Villa to go to City.
Little Alex will be at SMS next season ..This tosh of Arsenal and Utd after him is utter tosh! Interesting reading NA comments about Alex on Oscar Gobern headline, by statement no bids have been made for him!
