but we are Ens for failing to entice the best out of a rough diamond...we always do this...we buy potential from other clubs and it disappears...yeh i kno...Bale and Lennon....but they had shown what they were capable of...and it was only a matter of time...u earn your corn with the likes of taarabt..where you work on the individual....Fergie does it...Wenger does..THFC doesnt
I agree Dona_Mara: If I was paid megabucks for managing a team and went to the CEO and said 'One of my team has the best skill of anyone I've seen, but I can't get him to apply it so you need to let me sack him and hire someone else' then I'd expect to get fired myself. But football managers do it all the time and Harry is no exception. In fact he's pretty much said this about Taraabt. Managing is about getting the best out of people
exactly managing.......sometimes we have to admit when we make a balls up....lets not blame taarabts and his self centred head..i think under someone like Fergie he would know his place.........he could have known it under HR but he doesnt have the application to do this..maybe its true....HR has rubbish communicating skills..he eithe rlikes you as a player or he doesnt......i'e Krancjear and Crouch
I don't blame HR for selling him and we got a good sell on clause so we should make money out of him. He is a very skilful player but that doesn't make up for the fact he has a bad attitude. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...ine-up-for-African-Nations-Cup-qualifier.html
He was never worth the hassle. If we can get an extra £5mill out of the deal, I'd consider it a success. Similar to Prince Boateng, talented player when given the chance but would you really want them playing for us?
but dont they seem to start playing well for other clubs...especially KPB at portsmouth and now milan?? but tottenham couldnt handle him? yeh i agree with Taarabt hes been a bit of an idiot at QPR
£20million for Henderson £35million for Carroll. Makes Ronaldo look cheap for £80million doesn't it.
With Boateng although we did keep playing him on the right wing because we had Lennon and 2,748 centre mids, would you really want a player going down everytime anyone gets within 10 yards of him?
According to Wikipedia he's got 66 goals in 63 games. He's well worth £80mill to a club and I'm sure Fergie would have him back for that money anyday.
Managing is about bringing the best out of the team as a whole as well as individuals. If individuals are not not conducive to the team ethic as well as effort then they fall by the wayside. That is what has happened and I'll support Harry in his decision to shift him any day of the week. You can't manage this type of player fairly and in accordance with the limits imposed upon the rest of the team. Taarabat gets away with murder while other players would be dropped and fined heavily in similar circumstances. In essence he's created a two tier system and you just can't work like that at the top level for any space of time as disharmony and dissent will breed itself with your ranks. A manager sets a standard everybody should abide by, where there is transgressions you instil sanctions. If Taarabat sets those standards of behaviour can you imagine what your team would be like?
Yes! I still can't believe this - THIRTEEN-AND-A-HALF MILLION for ADEL TAARABT!? He's worth 1/5 of that at best.
Taarabt's a disruptive, greedy, arrogant pillock with delusions that he's actually Lionel Messi and Christiano Ronaldo rolled into one. Just because somebody has ability, that doesn't mean that they'll do a good job.
You guys are right an extra £5m is a right touch and yes when he dont have the ball he's a lazy bastard but what he gave us going forward last year more tham made up for what he lacks, his attitude stinks and he got well wound up when Routledge came on loan and everytime we were live on sky he picked up the champers, he could not take having to share the lime light, his game may be suited abroad but he will need to grow up first
