I am finding it difficult to get excited about any of the signings so far, they look more like consolidation stuff rather than promotion or "play off" place. Also who is the Goalkeeper we are going to sign?
take chill pill. there good signings in addition what we have. just wait til its all done and dusted before you hang yourself lol.
NP is known from building from the back, get the defence sorted then get the attack sorted. Last season in January in particular, we had the defence we just didnt have the attack, which is why we bought the players we did. Now, most of the defenders we have, have either left or gone back to there parent club we hadn't anything. Hobbs is a cracking signing, 800k raising to 1million depending on appearances is a snatch. With the supposed income of Ayala also, I can see us having one of the best defences in the Championship. Having saying that, we are lacking pace in the team. We have Stewart Rosenior Fryatt and Koren who can beat a man. But no real width. I hope we sign an exciting young right winger before the new season, like when we had the chance to sign Jerome Thomas and we said no. McKenna brings us solidity in the midfield, as does Hobbs in the defence. Adebola is the game changer when things aren't going right, its tactical dealing by NP. Great manager, thinking of every scenario. Think the next thing is to get players off the wage bill, so we can sign some experience talent.
I never understood that, he looked good in the pre-seasons he played, and then turned out to be quality for West Brom.
spot on with that comment. hull city could have had Thomas and Hunt switching wings all the time. shame brown and duffen would not see that. city maybe still in the PL now.
The signings may not be the most exciting names around, but all the players we've signed this week should do a good job for us. Given our financial circumstances we are likely to be more restricted with who we buy, are you expecting us to be like Leicester or West Ham? There's still time for us to add more signings and there may be some names in there that will add a bit more excitement. But, as long as they're producing the goods on the pitch and doing their job then it doesn't matter if they're a big name or not.
