The Equalizer. Started slow and good. A mans life tormented by his nefarious past . Then bang!! It then becomes a story of how many different ways Denzel can kill a man(lots) Typical formulaic Hollywood BS. If you think this is a tribute or remake of the great 80's series...you couldn't be more wrong!! Summary- it's all be done before, don't bother.
Old Boy (the US remake). Better than I expected but if there's a hammier performance this year (Or century) which tops Sharlto Copley's I've not seen it. Worth watching if you've not seen the original.
Watched Get Low, really good film highly recommended and it's on Netflix. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1194263/
''GONE GIRL'' In the end, 'Gone Girl' echoes what experience has taught, in that with marriage you think you are getting what you desire when in reality you are getting what you deserve... 7/10
Dawn of the planet of the apes. Excellent stuff. If Andy Serkis and Toby Kebbel don't get an Oscar nomination for this film then the academy are a bunch of monkeys. 9/10
Just watching Dances With Wolves on the box ... not the full length version ... for me one of the few films I've watched over the years that merited the 'hype' ...
Gone Girl - very good film, a little too long but you don't feel it. An original idea which I wasn't expecting but a little disappointed by the end. 8/10
The Call: Halle Berry gives a good performance of a 911 emergency call centre operation who gets a distressing call off a young girl who finds an intruder in her home and cannot do anything to help her. Tense.
Django Unchained: Didn't think this was one of Tarantino's better offerings, thought it slightly comical towards the end.
