http://www.tottenhamhotspur.com/news/articles/your-favourite-pl-moments-280611.html Next season marks the 20th season of the Premier League. The revolutionary change from the old First Division to the Premier League kicked-off in August, 1992. Our first match was a goalless draw against Southampton at the old Dell on Saturday, August 15, 1992. It was a less than auspicious start that season and took until the sixth match to register our first win in the Premier League, a 2-0 home success over Sheffield United at the Lane with goals from Teddy Sheringham and Gordon Durie. We went on to beat Liverpool at home, draw against Manchester United and, most importantly, do the double over Arsenal! We beat the Gunners 1-0 at the Lane in December before a 3-1 win at Highbury in our final match of that inaugural campaign on Tuesday, May 11, 1993. So much has happened in the first 19 seasons - and we're after your favourite moments so far from the Premier League era. It could be the derby double in that first season or, more up to date, the comeback from 2-0 down to beat Arsenal 3-2 at the Emirates last season. What about Jurgen Klinsmann's debut at Sheffield Wednesday or his home debut and spectacular volley against Everton in August, 1994? Remember the 4-1 win against United at the Lane on New Year's Day, 1996? Perhaps that's your favourite, or even Jurgen's four goals in the 6-2 win at Wimbledon in May, 1998. How about the high-scoring games? There's the 7-2 against Southampton in March, 2000, the 6-4 win against Reading in December, 2007 and Jermain Defoe's five goals on the way to a 9-1 win against Wigan in November, 2009. Perhaps it's Robbie Keane's hat-trick in the 4-3 win against Everton in January, 2002 or another Keano strike, that curler to secure a 4-4 draw against Chelsea in March, 2008. Remember, remember the win against Chelsea on the 5th of November, 2006? Then you have the comebacks - 4-1 down to 4-4 in our 125 anniversary game against Villa, or 3-1 and 4-2 down to draw 4-4 at Arsenal in November, 2008. And who could forget Peter Crouch's winner at City in May, 2010 - the goal that took us into the Champions League? Great games, great goals, great players - but what is your favourite moment? We're looking to list our fans' top 20 moments to mark the Premier League's 20th season in 2011-12 and to possibly run alongside a feature in next season's official matchday programme. It won't be possible without your views - so please email us at this address - - CLICKING HERE to go direct to email - with your moment and the reasons why. Don't forget to include your name! As always, we look forward to your response!
For me, the Wigan 9-1 game and the Reading game are right up there. Just complete madness in the stands and the euphoria afterwards. Plus, at the Wigan game, my missus managed to nick on of the official training balls which takes pride of place at home
The funny thing is, most of them have absolutely nothing to do with what's being linked to! Southampton's old ground or a new PC? Er, ok then... I must admit, I'll laugh my arse off if Crouch manages to get the most memorable moment! With all the stick he gets, it'd be a very strange winner. Stalteri's winner at the Boleyn was great, Edman's screamer at Anfield is often overlooked, Robinson's ridiculous goal against Ben Foster's Watford was memorable...
Not sure, Ensil. I think I've just remembered why we were so keen to sign Friedel, though: They still lost, too!
Robinson had a great relationship with the fans, but he became a total liability towards the end of his run at WHL. Any shot from distance seemed to beat him and his confidence was utterly shot. I started to doubt his eyesight, in all honesty. He'd pull of blinding (no pun intended) reaction saves and then utterly fail to get anywhere near daisy cutters from miles out.
I wonder if we can sort ourselves out for the foreseeable future in the goalkeeping department by helping Friedel and Cudicini to move into coaching, once they've finished their long playing careers? Maybe getting in a promising young keeper now, to replace the presumably departing Gomes, could help too?
I wouldn't be surprised if Rene Higuita scored from open play - although this list doesn't go into too much detail.
Got to be Kaboul's winning goal against you know who. The look on the faces of the little Goonies in the crowd was priceless.
the 4all draw in 2008 with Arsenal, not only a lot of goals, but a real thriller with a lot of good football played
I know Jamie and trust me, he's not like that all the time. But the Gns bring the best out in him when it comes to supporting the mighty Spurs
Just remembered one: Dutch twat was offside, too!
I remember when King and Gardner first came on the scene and I had several arguments with other Spurs fans over who was better. I definitely won that argument but didn't Gardner even get an England cap before Ledders?
King made his debut for England in 2002 and Gardner's was two years later. Both seem to have had their careers damaged severely by injuries, unfortunately.
