So says Town MD Ian Milne in his interview with BBC Look East. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/29541071 Mick and TC have worked miracles in getting a squad of players together who can compete in this league and have spent next to nothing in the process.
I have a good feeling Warky about this season, if we don't end up top 6 I will be disappointed. Best squad/spirit we've had in years. Bolton's wage bill must be at least double if not more than that of ours, but the players certainly don't care. Would you expect the likes of Jermaine Beckford on probably £15,000 p/w to run around and break a gut for your club....
The thing we have with our players is passion, they know that getting up in the prem will mean bigger wages and set them up for the rest of their careers. no big time charlies flounching about on stupid money knowing that if we don't pay somebody else will. I'm loving this ITFC, after years of hurt the glory is getting closer.
Yeah this squad just feels right. We have a massive squad now, with the likes of Hewitt out on loan. Hell, even Nouble has made a decent start at Coventry!
The league table would suggest that we can compete with the best in this league. As for Norwich I think they might well tail off as the season progresses and end up fighting for a play off place at best, they have the squad but I don't rate the man at the helm and I don't think it would take much for the fans and players to turn on him.....I could be wrong.
Sadly Weighty I think Naaaaaaaaaarwich + one other will be going up. As soon as they sort the home form out ( I guess it's not a definite that they will ) then they will be flying. They seem to be creating a bucket load every single game and having often well over 20 shots!
It still could go either way I agree they certainly have a good squad, shots on target are not that great tbh I just think that Adams could prove the downfall.
i think we've proven last season and certainly this so far we can compete. a little more composure this season would have seen us with a few more points. we haven't taken an annual hammering for a few years now either. i am more optimistic this season than i have been for a few now. mm and tc have got us near to where we should be and on the tightest of budgets,if we had money where might we be. top 6 this year for sure.
The good news is that we will meet FFP this year and we have a competitive squad so Mick is turning things around. Town are on the UP!
I'm not stupid enough to predict anything like where we will finish, there is sooooooo many things could happen to us over the next 35 games its unreal. I'm just well chuffed we are competing at the right end of table with a squad and manager that has given our club back to us.
I think the January sales will define the two clubs destiny this season We may have a good squad (and I believe we will go up) but Norwich has the parachute payment to play with and that could make all the difference
but money isn't everything, we know that to our cost! I'm not saying they won't use it well, but sometimes it can be a hindrence and a divisive attribute.
How true this is. When we were promoted we had a squad cobbled together for peanuts, but with a togetherness (much like you guys now). From there, it's natural to want to improve the squad, but bigger players bring bigger egos, and that togetherness can be lost.
I think we will end up in the top 20, if not i have to say i will be gutted!! Norwich, will finish 5th imo!!
