The 24-year-old has made only four substitute appearances in the Premier League this season but started in both of the club’s League Cup fixtures and scored in the 2-1 defeat at home to Stoke City in September. Altidore insists a priority is to remain part of the United States national team and believes that he needs to be given more minutes by Gus Poyet so that he is not overlooked by his country. "I thought I've done everything I could this season to come in fit, and get as fit as possible with the injury, and try and make an impact when I played," Altidore told reporters. "[The next] four years, I want to be part of the national team. Jurgen [Klinsmann] makes his messages very clear, and nobody is different. "If it doesn't turn around, in January then I'll be looking to start elsewhere, and make sure I'm in his plans going forward."

Needs to calm the **** down and prove he deserves a place. He got a lot of games last year in return for very little. Disappointed in this.
there's a good player in there. but a premier league striker has to take his chances, and he doesn't. most important of all - we can't afford to wait.
The simple answer is to get him off the pay-roll which will save a lot of money, and sell him for whatever we can get.Yet another flop! He's not worthy...in fact,he's sh***!
Try sticking the ball in the back of the net then mate, you might keep your place. After all, that's what we pay you to do.
1 for Hull mate. He's not played that many league games for us. He's good a grafter, I can't disagree with that. He's had a prolonged chance though and he just hasn't delivered.
I love watching Jozy play for U.S.A. He causes a lot of problems when he can wander off a central striker. But I don't think Poyet's preferred system will ever be good for this lad. They're just incompatible, philosophy-wise. I hope he goes somewhere else and is the great success I believe he can be (and is for his country). Go Jozy, and good luck mate.
I don't blane him to be honest, I would be pissed off, he never started at the beginning of the season because he was injured, then he gets fit and starts his first game in the cup and scores then isn't given a chance again!! Guess gus just doesn't fancie him. He played a lot of games last season in a god awful side when he wasn't settled in yet! Just think he's been a bit unlucky but if he was given a run in the side he would do well this year because where playing a hell of a lot better now. Don't look like he will get back in now the boys are scoring again.
