And I wonder where the information for this statement comes from ? Can only be from the club.

Which means they're obviously plotting something....

As I have suggested in the past, why did Tesco drop their plans to build a major 'Extra' store at the Elloughton/Brough A63 junction when they had expended so much effort and planning would have been an eventual formality? Under the correct Premiership inspired commercial conditions, the Melton project could still have legs - and above all, there's no smoke without fire!! A Melton move could even widen the appeal of the club (whatever it's called) beyond it's traditionally parochial bounds. Maybe, minds need to be opened on this issue....

As has been said, he is perfectly entitled to his opinion. He has clearly been given the 50% info by Allam and is in cahoots with him, but I see nothing wrong with that, either. He has an opinion and he is making a democratic attempt to persuade his colleagues to support his opinion - this is no more than CTWD do; his colleagues have their right of veto or support and the result will be telling. It is up to those he represents to make it clear whether or not they support his move, but if they can't be bothered to then that is equally telling and only the FA will stem the futility that has always been lurking in the wings.

But yes, he is a cock!

And OLM needs to charge his iPad. <ok>

Maybe maybe not. Think he's just enjoying making a bit of political mischief with Hull CC. Maybe with AA's backing, flush them out a bit.

It would be brilliant for ER council to have a stadium, doubt he cares about having to travel to Melton.

Its factually incorrect because the club is owned by Allamhouse Limited, which under English law is a separate legal entity. A small point but you would have thought a Conservative councillor would understand something about how businesses operate.

It would be interesting to see what East Riding Council said in any submission it made to the FA early this year.

At least he recognises the importance of Hull City nationally and globally, be a shame to throw all that away by changing the name.

I can see a number of Freedom of Information requests going in to East Riding to see what "every backing" means in practice. Is the Council going to be giving money to Hull City to help us get to the next level?

Is there still a team called Hull and East Riding? Were/are they rugby Union? Cricket? I've forgotten. Anyway that's the name if no longer taken.

Dunno if they still exist. RUFC and their ground was/is on Chants Ave North, near Goddard Ave.

The Falmer Stadium cost Brighton and Hove Albion £93 million and opened in 2011. It has since been expanded and has a capacity of 30,750. Assem Allam hasn't got that sort of money to build the stadium, even if Tesco's put a shop there.

Finally, its up for sale, he's said he's going and won't be Chairman for very much longer.

A local councillor who actually follows City, unlike those 'rugby town' neanderthals Brady and Geriatric Terry. I've said it before and I'll say it now those two halfwits couldn't run a bath..

The penny has dropped. Assem Allam tells the world he's not going to chuck money at the problem on Saturday. On Tuesday Councillor Parnaby tells the world East Yorkshire Council will give Assem Allam and Hull City "every backing" to get us to a higher level.

He can't be talking about the name change as £2 million over two tears (if we believe Assem Allam rather than Ehab) wouldn'y buy us very much in footballing terms, so he must be talking about something else. The thing that would take us to a higher level, better players. East Yorkshire Council could give City a grant of £200 million to spend in the January window on transfer fees and wages.

The leader of HCC should be taking the lead. Up to now they have completely ignored the importance of Hull City as a Premier League club is to the city/area. Like they airbrushed the FA Cup Final.
Parnaby is no mug and he is a City supporter as is his right hand man, Nigel Pearson. Two prominent politicians you will actually see at the KC, paying for their own tickets and supporting the local team.
The only time HCC mentioned the FA Cup Final was a whinge about the Lord Mayor nor being included on the freebie list.
I hope Paranaby kicks a few arses then perhaps the local dead heads might wake up and smell the coffee?
It would make sense for ERCC to get behind a new stadium development on the edge of the city and it doesn't have to be at Melton. There are vast areas of the East Riding screaming out for something like this and the ERCC are keen and willing landlords. This has been spoken about at a high level ( amongst prominent ERCC leaders and AA many months ago) It is a distinct possibility.
If HCC do not want to play ball and are content to let the KC Stadium remain at 24,000 capacity stuck in the middle of a load of empty fields with no plans to develop it and no wish to persuade anyone else too then so be it. Let the eggchasers have it. And we move on.

I doubt that will happen. It would be a bit weird if ERYC funded a football club from Hull, and I don't think the locals would be too happy about it. To be honest, I don't think people in Hull (even City fans) would be best pleased if HCC spent that amount of money on a private business.

In fact, do local councils even have that amount of money? HCC were getting grief for overspending £4.5M...

But that's what the motion says. The motion doesn't say what "every backing" means but it clearly includes financial backing in the form of grants and interest free loans. As long as the Council can show it helps Hull City to a higher level then it is covered by the instruction in the motion. Buying Messi in January would clearly push Hull City to a higher level in all sorts of ways. When his picture comes up it can say, sponsored by East Yorkshire Council.

Yes, that's tongue in cheek, but Councillor Parnaby has written a motion allowing the Council to give financial support to Hull City. It'll be interesting to see how much hard cash he stumps up.
