Ronny to me and a good few others is not up to the job, he see's his ideals as more important than winning and at Celtic that is wrong. If he had come in and got some results and then slowly tightened the regime on diet and fitness he might have got players listening to him and respect him. He embarrassed us in the CL twice and then turns on the previous manager about the players condition, that was a desperate move and he clearly was trying to shift blame despite the fact the previous manager got far more from the player despite their poor condition. He is also a tactical imbecile, his system is clearly not working he's tried any number of player combinations and its not worked so he sticks with it . The most glaring thing is he doesn't understand the job at hand, to come out and be content with a performance that results in losing at home to Hamilton is a sackable offence. He has made to many mistakes to turn it around now, the players will know that he's a dud and getting dropped by him will not be as big an issue to them as it should they will get worse. We can't buy a whole new team although Peter might well try and loan one so he has to go, there is no other option.
I have no problem with Ronnie and I don't want to criticise him but basically he is a useless cnu and is ruining my life
Aye Sack the manager after 1 league defeat of the season Lennon left as he knew the Celtic team he had wasn't good enough for champions league (look at last season champions league). It wasn't and what Delia got left to him was not good enough to get through. Hence we got pumped. Yes, he was tactically naive away to Warsaw but so was Strachan against artmedia. To replace the team that beat Barca, Delia got handed a team not fit enough (blowing out their arse against Zagreb at home) and had to make due with loan signings. There is no quick fix without spending loads of cash - big wages/fee for a manger and transfer fees. On a side note - get in who????
Davie Hay. I'm not saying that Ronny is to blame but he's not the solution either. He doesn't know what he's suppose to be doing.
honestly I don't know who to get in but anyone who does not think that celtic players running about daft acting out the hunger games would be a start.... lost 2 and drawn 2 to be fair pud and 10 points dropped - that's a guffer than guff start to a league we should be pumping so hard we don't even have to buy it dinner afterwards I believe billy mckinlay is up for grabs....
See in Roy keanes book he says he was offered the job but told his assistant was already picked for him, and Lennon mentioned Deila was to be his assistant initially. I think he was meant to be a number 2. Tactically he ain't got it in my mind. He can work with players and improve younger ones, but he hasn't got the metal to be a number one in my mind
Worst start to a league campaign since Dr Jo. It's not looking good. But he deserves a wee bit longer to implement his ideas. Let's see how we're looking at Christmas. EL group will be done and we'll be another 8 or so games into the league season. If we're pumped out the EL and still struggling in the league then we may have to reconsider.
Hamilton are playing well this season so there is no shame in losing...there not Greenock Morton ffs The man actually has time to turn it all around so let him Maybe if he was allowed to pick his own staff and players we'd be doing a bit better
Don't disagree regarding staff and players. Fact is he won't be allowed to though, so we need a manager who will work with and get the best out of what he is given. To do that you have to be flexible and think on your feet. Pick a system to suit the players you have in front of you rather than try and force them into a system that doesn't suit
Then you give the job to Mjallby in the first place. Man U are struggling and it's not because Moyes or Van H are ****, it's players not liking change that are the cause That's nothing new but generally a new manager is backed by his board and I dont think Ronny really is
Man U are improving all the time, we are going backwards. it is not like we just have to tighten up on a few things defensively or change slightly our forward play the whole system is a mess and its not improving. It has to change and the fanny won't change it. He has to develop to the system he wants over time while ensuring Celtic win not implement the system and in time we will be able to play it. Its madness!
O'Neil brought 352 to Celtic and we looked awful in defence at times, but he was backed financially by the board and it bore fruit The board will not back Ronny financially but Ronny is a YES Man so will accept the restraints he has placed on him Nobody else wanted the job under those conditions I think it's pointless sacking anyone apart from the board
This thread needs a poll. Put me in the "keeping Ronnie but running out of patience - it's probably Colllins' fault" basket
What players is it we have that should be pumping this league? We have a team full of loaned cast-offs who werent good enough elsewhere. Van Dijk is the only above average player we have left. Board sold the few good ones we had and never replaced them, thats not Deila's fault, he was the cheapest option for the board as per the script, and Lawell will be happy to hang him out to dry for you mugs who cant see its him and the clubs strategy that has actually ****ed the team up, not Deila. The gap over the other scottish clubs is now very small, we will get the job done over the season but the days of 4 and 5-1 every week are long gone. Why do you think the stadium is half empty?
We do have a 4.4 million midfielder and an apparently ****e striker who cost us a couple of mil, admittedly, but Eddie is still right.
* I think you mean "they're" anton. Short for they are. Anyway thanks for the rep I'll return shortly
O'Neill team had 60000 backing the team , on Sunday there was lucky if there was 20000 backing the team , another reason poorer teams come to celtic park and win
Just need to ask yourself why Lennon just left when he didnt even have another job to go to, if he honestly thought they were trying to build something there is no way he would have left. He won a few leagues and had some good nights in the Champions League, he realised he wouldnt be able to top that and that the job would be getting harder each year with the way the board were operating, ie selling the best players and investing about 15% back into the team. Rangers debacle has ****ed us all.
