Well yes it is the first really. I refer to SW, TESB and RORJ as 1, 2 and 3. The latter 3 are 4, 5 and 6 imo.

The guy who played Anakin in the new trilogy is a ****ing garbage actor. Revenge of the Sith would've been a decent film if they got someone better to play Anakin.

The farting menace and Attack of the Clowns were ****ing dreadful - really, really ****. No 3 was better.

Star Wars was terrific fun, and it led into by an absolute mile the best of the lot, Empire. Frankly I think any newcomer could stop there, as Return of the Jedi is a bit silly and juvenile in places.

(I can't believe my tablet wanted to autocorrect to 'Return of the Jedinak '.)

As for mega-popular films I avoided for a long time, Gladiator was one. I was surprised to find I enjoyed it. Titanic was another. I was unsurprised to find it was a total bag of cack.

Episodes 1-3 are garbage. Acting and dialogue is terrible, even the presence of Natalie Portman doesn't warrant watching them.
I'd just like to say I've never ever watched the Muppets or The Simpsons. Or Titanic.

I saw Return of the Stiff. It was on a triple DVD with Womb Raider and Shaving Ryan's Privates that I bought from the Chinese DVD gang of Walton Street market.

I was also told if I was going to watch Titanic, to have a box of tissues ready. It was alright, but not worth having a **** over.*

I very rarely analyse or even notice the quality of an actor, except when she has Hollyoaks on, I dunno if I just find it easy to get really stuck into something and not even see them as actors or what. Anakin is played by two different actors in different films but the grown uo one is Hayden Christensen, is it him that people think is ****?

I don't understand the Jar Jar argument at all. There were numerous ridiculous characters in the original trilogy including the much loved Ewoks.

For me it's just the story of the whole saga, I get so into it watching any of them that even though I know the outcome I'm willing the jedi to 'win' all the time as if I'm watching live sport or something. Although it was probably never planned at first, I think doing it in the wrong order worked well, and ep 3 tied everything up beautifully. But age is probably a part of it, I got into star wars at about 8 or 9 when ep 1 was just coming out, so I loved the first four equally and the ones that came after I was still pretty young and ill never lose that interest in them. Now I'm a grown up cynical **** I probably won't like the new new ones as much when they come out, and I think that's the same for a lot of people who were grown up by the time the previous three came out.

Come on man, this saddens me.

I'd recommend starting at Last Tango in Paris and then work your way from there.

Edit: Work your way from there is not a film, as far as I'm aware.

Titanic a good film but slighty spoilt by the wishy washy fingers down throat ott romance...but cant see how u could have put the class system on board the Titanic across better..2 unknown actors perhaps but without Di Caprio/Winslet(both great actors) it wouldnt have clawed back the original lay out and then some at the box office i suppose.

Always thought people like sheep when comes to star wars as in everyone likes it so its easy to say u like it too at the risk of offending the masses. There are much better sci fi films like 2001 made around the same era to be honest.it was certainly ground breaking though ill give it that.

Same era? 2001 came out 9 years before Star Wars.

This one always moves me. None-stop lezzer love. But it's NOT porn. Honestly, it's not. It won awards at Cannes and everything, but it's not just arty lezzer porn. It really isn't.

Thought roughly the same ball park without googling...am impressed with 2001 even more then if 9yrs b4 star wars.

Id take a thinking mans budget movie like Moon over star wars any night of the week anyways rather than be a sheep my point.
Wasnt Roger Moore or someone 1st choice to play Hans Solo above Harrison Ford?...weird.

I love the fact you refer to people who like Star Wars as sheep, as if you feel superior to them. What that actually does is make you sound a little bit like a prat.

Maybe it has a lot of fans and is popular because it is GOOD?

Ps. Guess what - Tom Selleck nearly played Indiana Jones. But rather unsurprisingly that means **** all, because he never did.

(It isn't my fave sci fi film before you accuse me of bias or something stupid)

Who can argue with that list of awards. It looks areal roller coaster of emotions. I'm sure I'd hardly notice any lezzing up.

If this doesn't turn quill then I'm stumped as to what to recommend next.

    Brokeback Mountain?
