The younger manager Jose Mourinho knows how to wind people up, and sadly the older manager Arsene Wenger fell for it. Still Wenger not talking.
i dont know what was said so cant comment on it. was wondering, i know most see it as funny and part of the game to play mind games and wind rivals up etc, but does anyone see something similar happening like in cricket where heckling etc is not allowed any more? or do the media hold some power in this? they need their headlines, and mourinho certainly gives them that.
In the pub I was at for the match, all the people were screaming at Wenger to knock Mourinho out! Admittedly, that would have been quite funny.
I thought chelsea were dirty and rely on those couple of momnets. mourinho and rafa... cut from the same cloth. rafa dominated mourinho for a time... wenger has not got it in him to beat mourinho at that game. cheslea were too solid and lumping it at welbeck was meat and drink. shanchez was gash and arsnela needed directness. The sides who will beat chelsea's defence will hit them on the break OR have 6/7 tall lads forset peice OR most of all run direct at cahill and terry. its pace and directness and willingness to have a go that will beat them. playing in front of their midfield screen makes it easy. Hazard and costa are two worldies IMO. Utd have Dimaria, city have yaya and aguero... arsenal? ozil and sanchez should be worldies but just are not quite there. The reality is those should be top 4 and i predicted as much prios to the season starting.
Difference between the two is that Arsene wants to win in style every time. Mourinho wants to win no matter how. This is why Wenger will continue to construct a side capable of winning trophies on a regular basis.
The worst case of managers bullying other managers has to be "the case of the mysterious hand signals". Fat Sam and the plonky were definitely conspiring behind the scenes against Rafa, those type of mind games/wind ups amount to bullying and a touchline shove is **** all by comparison.
So you seriously think that when the dark knight brought the incident up in his prematch conference even though it had no bearing on United's game there was no skullduggery behind it? He himself insulted many clubs, managers, officials, the FA in many ways in a far worse manner than "hand signal gate" down the years. And its well known that him and Sam are and were bosom buddies even though Sam tries to hide the fact. please log in to view this image
No denying that Mourinho has got the better of him though. Like him or loathe him, he knows how to beat Arsenal
I appear to have missed what happened. So Wenger shove Maurice at the game?? Does anyone have a link to a vid??
'kinell. Hasn't Google made it to Nozzer yet? This is funny too. http://www.theguardian.com/football...-refuse-apologise-jose-mourinho-shoving-match
Ah come on, there's no denying that Fergie and Allardyce play the odd round of golf together and probably share a tipple or two, but the sum total of their 'conspiracy' against the paella king was Fat Sam saying "That Rafa is a fat minge faced arse!" while Fergie chuckled away. The idea that the two of them sat together in some smoke filled cellar looking at plans to overthrow this genius of football is funny. Frankly, Rafa was never that important, except in the minds of Liverpool fans.
Jeez, you've got a really vivid imagination Treble, I was thinking more along the lines of a mobile phone call and the two buddies planning the crap they accused Rafa of, all because of his rant at the dark knight. If you remember what caused the chuckle brothers false outrage was because Rafa gave his usual hand signals that even his own players never understood, but they found offence where none was intended. Pair of ****s.
