I have sat on the fence and watched all this purely as I think I know where he is coming from over all of this hype and rage etc .. I have not heard this one question from anyone be it media or pressure group or anyone ask him one question: A: what name will be shown on league tables and official fixtures. AA: ... what will the answer be I think the three different names will be exposed then this is not to give opinion .. tell me what he said edit : I meant media not nedia
what will be shown on most league tables and results pages will be . . . . . Hull 0 I added the 0 before some wizecracker got the chance
He expects Hull City Tigers to be on our shirts, fixture lists, basically everything, for next season(you'll see the new Hull City Tigers badge in the next couple of weeks), though he seems unaware that the FA have to sanction this. He then plans Hull Tigers to be used on everything for the following season, if he decides it's best for the club, which it seems he already has.
What will the name be the season after? Will he end up changing the name more often than we change the kit? I mean the players changing out of dirty kit to wear clean kit!
iQueens Park Rangers are routinely abbreviated to just QPR. Hull City Tigers would become HTC in most media outlets. Hull Tigers or even just Tigers would be fine by me. The Sports Mail and Hull Daily Mail and national media have had hundreds of headlines just calling them "Tigers" over the years. Hull isn't a good names (means "hole") and that is what we generally get, City is no good as clubs like Man City have dominated that so "Tigers" is a good idea. I think it's visionary and if it helps the club be self-sufficient, it's a small compromise. why should The Allams bank roll the club. They saved it. isn't that enough?
So what about the people who saved the club from liquidation when we were in division 4? Don't they get a say? Wasn't it enough? Without them there would have been no Adam Pearson, no Bartlett, no Premier League and definitely no Assem Allam.
Needler saved the club,Pearson saved the club but neither tried to change the name of the club. If they could prove that changing the name would bring more investment to the club I would agree with it. the old adage comes to mind "If it is'nt broken then don't fix it"
vaslav where do you get the hull means hole info from? The hull of a boat/ship is not a hole!! just asking like!
You ****ers had me going then, this is bumped up from a year ago. It was all discussed and debated then, rather than dragging up old news why don't you go back and read some old threads.
Surely can't be HCT, or people of a certain age would without doubt, mistake it for the old Hull Corporation Transport! F***ing council! spoil everything.
Needler did try to change the name of the club ..He also wanted to change the colours to Blue shirts with orange trim and white shorts with three crowns as the badge. The programme for the first game at Boothferry Park Featured a drawing of a player in that kit. Fortunately he was someone who took notice and changed his mind after a public outcry. He did change us from stripes to plain amber shirts.
So if someone saves the club, in your eyes they should get get a say, presumably that means something like the final say or most weighted say? Remember, AP, Bartlett, even Needler etc all had their say at the time, because hey, they owned/ran the club. Not the fans. Nice to see you're finally coming to your senses and realise that respect for our history is paramount, and that in our history the person who pays the piper calls the tune.
This is a very peculiar posting style. Especially leaving full lines whilst mid-sentence I'm not sure it's one I've ever come across before.
