Hernandez looked completely off the pace, as he has since he signed, except for a header, a shot against the bar and a well taken penalty. He's going to be a disappointment although he will score some important goals. Jelavic has been immense this season. Diame has been an astute signing.

Huddleston was very influential today. Livermore was OK.

The back 6 worked really well as a unit.

Elmo is the most effective City player of the last 18 months.

Ben Arfa needs a chance because he is immense.

you forgot Gaston Ernie, who looked bloody good when he came on. That bit of skill where he cut inside and got fouled was superb and the best bit of skill in the game.

Did he? I thought he looked alright, some neat little touches and had he stretched an extra yard he'd have scored today. He's not going to be a disappointment at all, that's a stupid thing to say.

I agree about Ben Arfa, he must be getting annoyed being sat on the bench, especially when he's now not even coming on.

Agree with this, I think Ramirez is gagging for a start, Livermore did his job today but out of all our players he was the one I was the most frustrated with, Dawson was picking better passes and he's a centre-half. Livermores lack of imagination contributed to a flat first half. Robertson was a bit in and out today too I thought. Again can't really pick on players when we got the win. Chester was my man of the match, was in South Stand directly behind him and can see how he reads the game, and closes gaps, we look great at the back when he plays

Our strength is obviously the back 5. They looked secure today, Chester hasn't conceded a league goal all season etc... And the wingers are real threats when they have that lowered defensive responsibility. Robertson swings in top class crosses for fun, and Elmo seems to scare anybody when running at them.

I don't quite think we have the midfield/forwards perfect yet. Certainly in the midfield, we really need someone in there who is always looking for the ball (e.g. Quinn/Gaston). Thudd and Livermore are both steady and secure, but do very little with the ball - keep one for the security, but Quinn and Gaston show far more excitement when passing.

As for the forwards - both seem good finishers - which is useful given our threat from the wings. I'd maybe be tempted to swap one of them for somebody like Brady/Ben Arfa - a bit more of a link to the midfield?

Some of these comments are just ridiculous to be honest, you weren't at the game so don't talk such obvious ****e, he worked his bollocks off and scored a great goal, massive threat for us. I know you are the troll here but that comment is more ******ed than some of Peter Swans better efforts.

Surprised at how crass some of the match comments are here really. Before I go, Robertson was quite naive a lot of the time today and wasn't having the epic game one of the posters suggested, they nearly got in behind us several times because of him. I still think he's a great player though and great cross, plus great work-rate too

Yep I agree, need a link from midfield, to be honest I think Livermore will make way, can't see him dropping Hudds

I am sure it was Livermore that put him through.

I really hope you are right and it's just a question of getting up to pace for the lad.

So far, for the money we paid for him and excepting a couple of moments of high quality, I've been disappointed.

A much needed win. A quiet first half but a much better second half. We're not in full flow yet but there was signs today of the team clicking together. Jelavic is looking like an in form striker (about a goal every two games so far) and Chester seemed to make the defence more composed. Jake got better as the game went on. Ramirez also looked like a handful when he came on. Bring on The Gunners!

I don't think Livermore has been very good this season . Like others have said he gave the ball away far too often today . I don't mind passing sideways or backwards if we keep the ball and have no other options . To do it when you have acres of space to stride into as a midfielder is a bit strange

Diame looks a steal at £3.5 million , Livermore is a very expensive workhorse at £8 million

So far he has played 4 games and has 2 goals and 1 assist. So that means that if he were to continue at that pace he would have 17.5 goals and 8.75 assists. Your idea of what constitutes a disappointment is sure different than mine.

I thought Livermore was off the pace for most of the match. A few misplaced passes would have cost us against better teams - granted he was still there at the end for the assist to Jelavic however until then I thought he had a quiet game - Huddlestone and Diame wanted the ball much more than Jake. Generally speaking though what a great performance

Elmo and Robertson were superb down the flanks / we really have the makings of a top half team in place

It was Jake that assisted it, I knew I wasn't going mad. He had some great touches and passes today, he's not quite up to the level he was last season, but he'll get there. Brucey wouldn't have him in the team if he didn't contribute anything, it's why he dropped Meyler.
