awkward mate -take it you drunk copious amounts of wine and pretended to eat - that's what I did when my wife's best friend prepared & cooked for me 'Pirohy' on a misunderstanding that I loved it -its a Slovak national dish that I detest- it makes me gag

I'm afraid I made an 'ass' of mesel and legged it.

I'd have gritted me teeth and gagged it down but I couldn't do it to Mrs Smug, she'd named them all ffs <doh>

The bloke wasn't best pleased and we had to leave the next morning ..... he did all that 'cursing my household' **** and spat on the floor in front of me. Shame, the cottage was at the far end of an olive grove and 30 steps from the beach, never mind.

I tend to go for Pasanda nowadays although I do try a Nawabi now n then.
The Bengal Dream, near where dirty book centre was, always does canny curries.
Asiana is canny but they tend to try n rush you.

In my boyhood my granda kept rabbits & pigeons.
We'd play with the rabbits & on Sunday mornings he'd throttle a couple & we'd have them for dinner.

I was basically gonna type this, but you've saved me the bother. Dansak from my local has just the right combination of heat and taste. By the end of it I still have a sweat on but I'm not suffering. Whenever I go I convince myself I will try something different but always end up getting...Chicken Tikka Dansak with Nut Pilau, a Keema Naan a two Stuffed Paratha's!!!!

I do like certain Indian curries but a lot of the Indian takeaways around my way only do pilau rice which I'm not a big fan of.
Fried rice I love but not many do it, that's why I prefer Chinese.

House special fried rice & house special curry.
    Lovely.

If you like to make your own mate, try the hairy bikers vindaloo and just cut back on the chillies. I tried it and it's lush, not as hot as a vindaloo to be honest but very tasty mate. Give it a go, it's worth it.
