Absolutely thrilled for Jose...he must have thought this would never happen as he watched everyone else get called up. Don't know enough about the Portuguese team to know if he will be first choice now or should have been in the past, but surely he should have been considered before this as a squad member.

That would have been the only other time. But we had unrecognised ever-presents in players like Reuben Agboola or Nick Holmes. Just looked Agboola up. He later played for Nigeria.

The Strachan team had a lot of internationals in it although may not have all played for their countries at the same time. Thissquad is someting else though. MELTDOWN!

As a defender, it's perhaps odd that he has a highlight reel of goals. But here's his goals from our League 1 promotion season.

I have one particular favourite. :)

Didn't he get his only goal of the season in the champ on the last day vs. Cov?

Know what you mean. I look at those League One videos from just 4-5 years ago, note the various players involved and wish they could have all been good enough to come all the way. Only Jose and Morgan left in the starting line up [with an honorary mention for Cork, cause he was there either side of League One]. Mind you, that's incredible anyway.

I did. Am I being stupid? I took Basset Saint to mean that Fonte got his only goal of the season against Cov... and you responded to that?

    Yep.

And here's another thing. How many of his goals have been scored with his feet..?
