How Cork doesn't get into that midfield is just laughable. Seriously what the **** has Wilshere shown in an England and Arsenal shirt on a consistent basis?
Just don't get it with Wilshire, can't say he has ever impressed me, but I suppose playing for Arsenal helps?
Lallana still has a good 6 years of top flight football in him , maybe more . But Lambert is at the end of his top flight career, and i very much doubt he will be involved in the Euro's . Surley in these easy games England could give someone younger a go ?
Exactly! Every time he is touched he just falls down and has never ever come close to reaching the potential the pundits all say he supposedly has.
Roy obviously sees Lambert as a good person to have on the bench. Not as if we are drowning in strikers.
Lambert is just the guy to bring for the last 3 minutes now. However I feel he should start against San Marino he really needs a goal.
Several years and player injuries ago, I have a vague memory of Wilshere doing something slightly better than quite ordinary. I think it was notable in that you wouldn't expect a GB teenager to have the ego to do that sort of thing, whatever it was. Since then, that moment has been buried in a swathe of Wilshere injury and mediocrity. Yes, he could penetrate a defence with his surging runs. No, it hardly ever happens. Once this season, and it got wall to wall coverage, as if some legend was back to full strength, when really he hasn't left first base for years, he pierced a defence with some help from his Arsenal pals. But how many times have we seen him fall flat on his face..? Paul Scholes is right. He's barely bettered himself at all.
Another good article by Chris Rann. Yeah, sure he's biased, but he writes well, and persuasively. Nat Clyne should have been selected at least two seasons ago, but now it's just so bleeding obvious. Perhaps if the previous manager had come out and backed him he might have gone to the World Cup. Thankfully, [for Nat's sake] the present one knows what to say and when to say it: http://www.espnfc.co.uk/club/southa...-england-muscle-again-with-overdue-clyne-call

Pretty much as forecast. By performing well in the Prem, Graziano has removed any lingering doubt. Do you get the feeling that the selectors were waiting for Balotelli to have a stormer today..?
