Newcastle , Stoke and Leicester....huge test towards Monk's reputation as our manager ,4 points will solidify his postion , 2 or 3 points will put him in limbo , anything less and he will be looking over his shoulder . 4 to 6 ponts is what I'm expecting. Squeaky bum month .
Why?....Seems to some that if you dont just say Monk's the best thing since sliced toast , your against the team in general . If you think it's some sort of inter club wum , ignore the thread ... cheers .
Every manager is under pressure just look at pardew.Monk so far has done a decent job but we are only at the start of the season.I for one was surprised when he was appointed because I thought he wouldn't have the pulling power of previous managers but with his additions he has proved me wrong. My next worry was where was our plan B if the game wasn't going our way, this is still a worry. For now I am just going to enjoy our start to the season and let monk be judged at a later date
Not to fussy on Monk's contribution last season but feel he is getting his feet on the ground this season . That being said , say if we only manage a point the next 3 games it would mean 2 points from a possible 18 in our last 6 games with tougher games following . Regardless of what any of us think of Garry , he will be under scrutiny to say the least .
"and let Monk be judged at a later date". Indeed, love,a much more sensible approach than the multiple orgasms some were experiencing hereabouts after the first few games of the season. As roof has highlighted,a poor points return from the next batch of games will put the cat firmly in the pigeon coop.
Why repeat what's already been done roofie?, this thread has been started, and ignored, before, hence my response. You started and said the same thing under the heading "Four games to trouble or glory" Not questioning your mantra at all, just the motive
I write food for thought threads stumpy , responses are optional . Ignore them all , matters little to me .We are at a critical point , more critical after our showing against Sunderland but I do feel we will pull out of it tomorrow .But if we dont ....I think Ill put up a "Most critcal two game " thread ... why? , because it will be and Im allowed ...cheers
You don't "intimidate " me sonny,I have been dealing with the likes of you for too many years, both here, and overseas. Your post No.2 was as pointless as most of your other offerings on this Forum. You haven't worked out yet that it's O.K. to ignore a thread that doesn't interest you.
To be fair this is a re-run of Roof's earlier thread but that's not a crime is it? He's right in that these are games that we'd be looking to do well in and I'm sure Monk thinks that too. They are all games that if not winnable, we should at least put in a performance and get something. I see multi millionaire Pardew is now moaning about the effect the current unease is having an effect on his family. Didn't think of his family when he was bonking a player's wife years ago (then got said player transfer listed when he found out and his own wife attempted suicide). Horrible bloke.
I don't really see why we are at a critical point. What makes today's league position (or whatever other criteria you are using to decide it's 'critical') any different to any other point during the season? If we had to get 3 points tomorrow to avoid relegation then THAT would be critical.
Monk has exceeded all expectations from most swans fans except the fans that could see past the rookie stage and saw that he was the best man for the job. I can understand fully the fans view of what is jinx doing!!! appointing monk as the manager and that is fair enough but i never once shared that view as i fully accept that nobody else outside the club could have done the job that monk has done since his appointment. I hope when monk goes we will continue to promote someone within the club to take over as that is the only sure way the club wont change its philosophy that has stood us in good stead for a number of years...
"we will continue to promote someone within the Club... as that is the only sure way the Club won't change it's philosophy". Makes no sense based on recent history. Neither Rodgers,Sousa nor Laudrup were "within the Club" when they were appointed, and they all had a profound effect on the Club, during their respective tenures. Martinez was also not "within the Club" when appointed Manager, but since he was an ex player,I'll give you him. Monk has his work cut out to earn a mention alongside those gentlemen.
but your a monk hater that has been humiliated because of how well he has done by saving the club from certain relegation to being 5th in the premiership today..your irrelevant son..you have been owned by monk and its killing you
