Assem Allam coming across more and more is a bit of a nut job, meanwhile Terry ****witt Geraghty who was at the original fateful meeting which kicked this ridiculous side show off is today named as a Board member for the City of Culture 2017 team. Even Rosie Millard when asked on the Burnys show this morning didn't know who had 'voted' the OAP off OPE onto the Board.
Isn't he just on there as the councils representative, ie they appointed him, rather than anyone voting him in?
Dr Allam lights the fuse and the same old noisey ego-tripping minority voices come out of the woodwork to state their opinion as they obviously know better. I hope that the true numbers for and agen will come out this time rather than just the noisey few who are determined to get the headlines for themselves. Indeed, I don't even think that the issue is about being for and agen a name-change. The vast majority have lives and dont give a sh!t what they support. The vast majority just want to see Stevie G and his like every other week anyway, whether he is playing against Hull Woolworths, Hull Cola or Hull Ensians. For goodness sake as soon as Hull City return to the championship (or below), it becomes Hull City again anyway. And even if a change happens, fans will still go to City every two weeks. So why all the fuss? Just let Dr Allam carry on playing with his train-set whilst it's his and the rest of us get on with our lives - or indeed go find a life!!!!! *********(Note from the moderators: This post was moved in order to get lost in amongst the usual anti-name change/anti-Allam drivvel.)******
Lewis92;7145517]Hoping that a new owner comes in quickly, that's if we really are for sale. Sick of his bullying. If a new owner did come in how long would it be before you turned on them too ? Not very long I suspect.
How come you can never quote anyone properly? All you do is click on 'Reply With Quote' and then type your response underneath, it couldn't be easier.
He's quite clearly losing his faculties and it's about time that his son stopped him. To allow your father to constantly embarrass himself in the media is not on and its time to grow some balls Ehab !!!!!
Perhaps he thinks and types like an Egyptian? Hod on, is that racist? In fact, maybe the whole CTWD argument about Dr Allam's senile mind set is simply a racist one. Oh dear - you'll be in court before you know it OLM!
Yeah keep up Mussie ffs. CTWD love Dr A and 100% want him to stay as owner. Apart from the name change they believe he's done an awesome job and want to erect a statue of him. Well obviously that's not the thoughts of the CTWD chairman who thinks he's a ****, or his mates. But that's the official line.
OMG he never gives up does he! but as has already been said there is nothing new in this story. The problem is that he can never back up his arguments with any plausible evidence or other examples of where such a change has worked. And as for the extra £1m in sponsorship that was withdrawn by a secret potential sponsor....hmmmm i believe everything you say Mr Allam i was only telling our lass the other week that someone had offered me £1m for our house but withdrew it once they found what the house name was, i couldn't tell her any details for reasons of confidentiality!
Does Assem actually think anyone ever says Association Football Club rather than just AFC - if they even say that? I would also suggest he mentions to Coca-Cola that perhaps their name is to long (same as Hull City) and far to many cola brands out there. Perhaps they should stick to just using Coke - it's shorter and is more recognised. To be honest, I think getting him to listen to reason, or prove his statements, is like arguing with with my kids - whatever reasonable arguments I use just get 'I don't want to' thrown back and a tantrum.
The BBC is out of order for re-peddling the lies about Tigers always having been part of our name. Interview or not, they have a duty to report the correct position accurately. They've failed.
He is utterly mental - probably even taking the crown from the Venkies as most deluded owner ever. If this is genuinely how he is thinking, has anyone suggested to him removing 'Association Football Club Tigers Ltd' from the name and thus making it two letters shorter than his own idea?
Ugh feels like I'm dealing with 1 track mind kids on here. It's not /just/ about making it smaller. It's making it smaller, more unique and more appealing. Hull Tigers sounds better than Hull City. Stop focussing on the sodding letter count.
